Thinking of booking a late holiday this year. Need to get away away and find myself after a turbulent few years. I was rather taken by Syria which looks nice with lots of desert areas where I can roam and ponder life's imponderables. Anyone been?
I am at my mum's farm in S Spain ****ing lovely ER I am supposed to stay 2 weeks but I'm going to stay most of October now.... Get a flight to Murcia and you can stay in the pool house.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-29321136 Oh it appears that there is wee bit of trouble in Syria. Change of plan. I hear the Gaza Strip is a ball at this time of year.
Syria is an extremely beautiful country. The Syrian people are kind and generous hosts, and they know how to cook up some of the finest cuisine on the planet. Damascus and Homs are amongst the greatest centres of medicine, technology, and theology, and the museums are lined with treasures of unearthly beauty. Agreed, it is currently unsafe, but if you want to see the wondrous architecture, the crusader fortresses, and the breath-taking vistas, you must take certain risks. The Lebanon is also a must-see. And, no, I do not jest.
