Old boy, I believe the horse could be called Old Guard. What a lovely name for horse by the way. He doesn't really say much about it. Half brother to Thistle Bird. Progressive on flat for Roger. Bought in August and very pleased with him. He will go juvenile hurdling.
Thanks Hawkeye, was just interested to see what was in the book. Have seen him 3 times since hes come in and he's summered really well and is looking fantastic as Stick will testify! Looking at late October for his first run. Yard are flying at the moment so long may it continue! I think Un de Sceaux could be the joker in the pack... more interesting that nothing has been said in a way. Paddy power are standout 7s for Valtour with Un de Sceaux 5s. They are worsted price by miles at 3s for Faugheen. Wondering
Half brother to the Newbury winner on Saturday who I am telling you to put in your notebook for the flat season 2015
Fantastic, thank you. That’s the chap, Old Guard. Potentially could be a top notcher over sticks this term. I wonder if it’s too early to ponder the finish of the ‘2015 Triumph Hurdle’ already?!? Will they come to the last with Old Guard and Mr Henderson’s, recent acquisition from the old boy Aga, Hargem several lengths clear with the old hill set to decide the outcome?!?
Hargam very favorably mentioned by both Author and Anthony Bromley. In fact it was the smartest 3 year old he's purchased. It went into my notebook.
I see it was reported in the paper, at the weekend, that the 11th richest man in Wales has recently purchased one of Greatrex’s top bumper performers, Ma Du Fou, who was a comfortable winner of a Wetherby National Hunt Flat affair back in April. Ma Du Fou will remain with Greatrex and may have another run in a bumper before going novice hurdling. Personally, if I was the 11th richest man in Wales, I’d send him to Mr Henderson slap him on the rump, Ma Du Foy that is not Mr Henderson, and get him schooled over hurdles pretty D.Q. Looks a nice prospect though and must have set the 11th richest man in Wales back a good 6 figures.
The author has put up 6 "Dark Horses" (including Hargam !!!) in this SPorting Life article: http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/...x-jumpers-to-follow-this-naitonal-hunt-season
