Haven't you been saying that for a year? Nothing is lost in 5 games, but indications and your level are shown, and so far, it's same old same from Manunited, what actual evidence do you have that things will change? Right, nothing but empty rhetoric, empty rhetoric you been spouting for a year. only 5 points against Swansea, Sunderland, Burnley, QPR, and Leicester, if I was a United fan I'd be very worried instead of feeding myself bullshit of OH IT'S GONNA TURN AROUND.
Your defence will improve you say, Evans is out, Jones is out, and you still have to play Blacket, so don't see that defence improving anytime soon, . Having said that, it's not like Evans in the team makes things much better, lol. . Your defence is ****, and to compound it, you guys have absolutely no midfield presence, We saw today what happens when you play a midfield of Herrera-Blind, annihilation at it's finest, but who you gonna call in to add steel to that midfield? Fletcher? Carrick? Anderson? Lol. Your major signings (Falcao who you didn't even need and Dimaria) have merely peppered over the cracks.
Honestly speaking, what do you currently make of United and how do you see the season going for you guys. For me Di Maria looks world class.
All of those attacking players show their skill. Di Maria, Falcao, Van Persie, Mata ... I know it's only Leicester, but the goals they produced today showed pure class. Shame about the defence.
I'd say that it's more than the fact that you've played so poorly this season, including implosions against Leicester & MK Dons, that people are saying your defence is shocking and we can't see you improving dramatically (ie getting into the Top 4), on your 7th place finish. It's because, like today, you've got an array of attacking talent, a host of players who want to play in the same position (no. 10), and all your best defenders are left sided. Combine this with the fact that your manager wants you to play with wing backs when you don't have any, and play with a CM (Herrera) and a AM/Winger (Di Maria) in the centre. It you're going to play wing backs in a 5-3-2 then you need at least 1 defensive midfielder and a box-to-box, instead you've got Di Maria, Rooney, RVP, Falcoa and Mata all competing with Herrera/Carrick for the 5 midfield/attack positions. That's where your big problems lie - no balance in the team, no midfield cover for the defence. and with Rooney and Mata, no positional discipline to keep the shape of the team.
That's of course assuming you can sort out your back 4 that's still realing from the loss of Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra
RVP scored, but he was average for most of the game, Falcao set the goal up for RVP, but other than hitting the post in 2nd half, was average too for most of game. Only Di Maria was a menace throughout, but highlighting United's problem, they had to take him off because they can't keep that many attacking players. . It's not their defence that's bad only, in terms of midfield, they have no presence, a midfield of Herrera-Blind is just asking to be overran. Put it this way, it'd be like having an Arsenal central midfield consisting of Arteta and Ozil, with Cazorla and Walcott on the wings, that would be a central pairing asking to get overrun. And the only other options United have in midfield to make it somewhat more defensive would be to put in either Fletcher or Carrick, lol, hardly proper options.
They're pretty much in the same situation as us ... awesome attacking midfielders, but no defensive midfield presence and a shortage of quality defenders.
They can't play either though as who will they leave out? Herrera, Mata, Di Maria, Rooney, Falcao or RVP? and that's without Valencia and Young. Personally I'd have gone Herrera and Carrick with Di Maria and falcoa on the wings/attacking midfield and then mata or rooney in the pocket behind RVP - you then need to fit all your left sided defenders into the team then - with Shaw at LB, and then one of Rojo/Blind next to Jones and err... Rafael???
Yeah ... unlike some other people here, I don't see that as particularly wum-worthy when Southampton and Aston Villa are currently 2nd and 3rd. If Man U are still down there come November/December ... then it's time to start taking the P.
