will levy give pochetino time

Our next set of matches are
Forest cup
Goons league
Basiktas euro
Southampton league
City league

All of those will be tough matches and it is not beyond imagination that we could suffer a loss to forest and not win any of the league matches.

My question is... if worse case happens and forest beat us, the goons beat us comfortably, Southampton beat us and city beat us...will levy hit the self destruct button and sack pochetino.

My view is he will but it will be the wrong decision... pochetino needs 2 season AND players HE choses at the club as a bare minimum.
 
Who cares? It hasn't happened yet so no need to be negative. There are several other teams in the same boat as us, most doing even worse and I doubt us, Everton, Liverpool or United are seriously considering any managerial change in the forseeable future.
 
It's too early for any pay-off reduction clauses to have kicked in yet so sacking him would cost Levy the full compensation package. Besides, if ENIC do sell he can leave the dirty work to his successor. It would be the wrong decision anyway.

Yv ... aint being negative...it is about levy's actions...how many managers have liverpool, everton or united ever sacked or have had 'resign' before xmas?

In the prem we have done it to....ossie, francis, gross, hoddle, santini, jol, ramos and avb ... the last 5 by levy.
It is not wild guess work on my part to suggest it may happen especially as only pleat, redknapp and sherwood were never sacked before xmas under levy (and pleat and sherwood were caretaker managers)...
 
Pochettino and Baldini aren't right for us and yes I know I've said that many times before, yet they just aren't the type of people this club needs. However even as someone who knows Pochettino will get found out, thinking realistically, he won't lose his job (this year) and it would take a horrendous run of defeats for Levy to even slightly consider if he made the wrong choice. Pochettino I expect to be here for 2 years max, but Baldini could be gone by the end of the season if it turns out the players signed don't get near their supposed potential.

With the exception of Santini they all had much longer than Pochettino will have had in 5 games time and Santini wanted out as much as anything else.

Of course it's negative to start a thread about whether we'll sack the manager after a series of bad results that haven't even happened yet, especially if you're going to skew your arguement about Levy with managers that were sacked before Levy was even at the club. It's not even thinly veiled.
 
As far as LVG goes, do we think he has the same 'CL slot or P45' clause in his contract that Moyes had ??
 
I can't criticise, so far, any of the few signings Pochettino has made. Aside from that, he has been asked to work with and try to get the best from a squad of players that he didn't chose. IMO, he's still learning about what he has, and what he needs. He needs to be given time. If Levy decides not to do that, then I for one, will really get really pissed of with the way the club is being run.

**** me yv...feeling a touch argumentative today?
I have said it would be wrong...and he should be given 2 years and given the players he wants...
I happen to think it is very possible for him sack him ...
ramos got 3 months of his first full season...with a near brand new team
Avb got 4 months after being given the bale money to spend
Sherwood was appt in december yet by late feb (3 months) it was a known fact he was not going to be the manager past may

My problem aint the manager...while I see problems with the team and his lack of a plan B I do think there are positives and am actually positive ... 7th or 8th and a couple of good cup runs... is my view of this season

However levy on the other hand
 
Argentina was successful for us in the forms of Ardiles and Villa. Southampton was successful for us in the forms of Chivers and Bale. The coach's position is much harder so he will, like Bale, need time. Argentine coach from Southampton must be successful for us.

I'm not being at all argumentative. I just don't see the point in discussing whether 5 losses, or 5 more games without a win would see Pochettino sacked. It's all fine lines at the moment, had we won against Sunderland(the own goal was unlucky and totally against the run of play) then we'd be sitting pretty on a good start regardless of today's result. I don't see the point in worrying too much about worse case scenarios when we're still just a good result away from having plenty of reason to be positive again.

Ramos had us bottom of the league after a quarter of the season. Jol had us in the relegation zone after a quarter of the season. Can't remember where Santini had us but we played with 2 banks of 4 that rarely left their own half, it was **** to watch. Even if we did end up in the relegation zone it wouldn't be the same as Ramos because our poor form with him stretched back to the previous season(something ridiculous like 2 wins since Feburary, I think) and Jol had been on a similarly bad run at the end of his previous season.
 
Not for me to say what Levy will or won't do but I wouldn't be surprised RCL.

The NLD could shape which way things go, I think you'll lose but it's more down to the performance, there has to b a response. So far all of the top teams have experienced teething problems but Pochettino doesn't have the same quality to work with as Van Gaal or Rodgers.

Fair enough ... guess we have different views about what is and aint worth chatting about.

But I totally disagree with you about jol...our directors first approached ramos in the close season...they were photographed meeting with him after the season started...he was sacked cos they thought ramos was the answer and were prepared to write off that season...and were pleasantly suprised when we won the carling cup. We treated jol appalingly and spurs form had sod all to do with it in my opinion

As for ramos ... 1/4 of a season...it was 8 matches and he was sacked before the end of october just 8 months after winning 1 of our only 2 trophies in the previous 17 years
