No matter how poorly Coutinho plays, I really wouldn't play Lucas ahead of him. He offers nothing going forward whereas at least one of Coutinho's balls might get through. Lucas and Gerrard in the same team is terrible now that Gerrard plays so deep.
When was the last time we started a game with Lucas and Gerrard, played well, controlled a game and won? Is Rodgers the only person who thinks it's a good idea because none of the fans seem to think so. It is simply impossible to play them both. If they're both deep, we have nothing higher up the pitch and they get in each others way, if Lucas is deeper, Gerrard has no legs to run and press, if Gerrard plays deeper, Lucas is useless with the ball higher up the pitch and pretty much dead weight. Why why why play them both? I know we've got injury problems in the middle but even Suso would have been better, or, you know, Lallana.

Rodgers ****ed up again this game, although the players had no desire or fight until it was too late.

I think we're complacent after all the media ravings last season about our attack.

Has anyone considered this possibilty.

Fergies is mates with big sam, fergie may have passed on his powers. You say west ham should have had a red and you should have had a penalty.

Does big sam now run the FA? Did anyone happen to notice brown envelopes exchanging hands? Could it be?

Think about it <ok>

Anyone else find it bizarre that Moreno put in a half dozen brilliant crosses when no one was there bit wasn't given the ball to do the same when we brought on the big man.....what's the point in that plan b then lol........

Edit, and the way he can whip the ball so accurately from a stand still could he take over from set pieces from "hit first man" Stevie?

Ive often wondered the same? Is he a singer or an actor?

We had a squad with great feeling and we completely changed it. Now we have to start all over again. Sucks to be us.

We had a squad with a serious flaw that hadn't been rectified. All we've lost is the ability to hide it with a **** load of goals up front.

We are still one good forward and one good midfielder short. Can may be the future and we may have the funds for a new striker but as I said pointless when you put concrete boots in the middle of our entire team.

Sentiment is killing us.

I have never once said we would win the league, this season or last.

I haven't heard anyone say it - Tobes is just wumming, don't lower yourself to his level <laugh>

On the game - No excuses from me, West Ham battered us in the first half and closed up shop in the 2nd half.

We have some serious work to do on the training field, because we look a shadow of ourselves compared to last season. Losing Suarez isn't the reason - although people will blame it on that.

We have too many players that haven't got to grips with our style of play - so it'll take time.

I believe in a month oe so, we'll be absolutely fine - we'll be in the chase for a top 4 finish, that I don't doubt for one minute.

this isn't an excuse - But we're seriously missing Sturridge.

What concerns me is that after the game on Tuesday most on here said we should not be playing Gerrard today. And he plays despite his legs being knackered. Does Rodgers not see this?

Come back Studge.....we need you.

Its like Liverpool have become the United from last season where no one has started to fear them, mainly due to Chewy going to Barca

Certainly an element of that for sure. But at the same time we've definitely declined. Whether we can improve to a similar level we were last season is open to debate. We were absolute gash early last year but were lucky to scrap the points

The defenders you've bought aren't good enough. Moreno is very good going forwards but leaves acres of space for attackers to play into. Manquillo is hopelessly out of his depth. Lovren is ok but no better than Agger, probably a bit worse.

Fact is Rodgers spunked a **** load of money on average players when he could have bought 2-3 top quality players to improve the first team rather than "strengthen" the squad.

Na, that's not it.
