    Mike Ashley has said that whatever the result today v Hull he will show patience. Pardew looks beleaguered...feel sorry for him. Newcastle have lost all confidence and when that happens nothing seems to come off. It is the manager's job to gee the team up as well as the training and tactics side, but what must it feel like to send out a team who just give up on the pitch. Something was said on Sky that has some resonance for us. They said in the past that an owner like Ashley would have been a Mike Walker in the past, but you can't buy the league without being unimaginably rich these days.

    That move baffled me too. In my opinion he's been on the decline for a year or two and tonight would be exhibit a in a case for that. I understand a reluctance to retire but he isnt helping himself at QPR and actually got a really positive reception as a pundit.
