Or perhaps Lada, that famous Russian automobile? As a kid growing up in the mid 1950's we had a north facing room off the kitchen, that was our larder or pantry, a cold room - we had no refrigerator and the milkman arrived early morning every day with fresh bottled milk - silver cap (regular) or gold, with extra cream on top. Next to the kitchen in the breakfast room was a coke burning stove that heated the hot water - no central heating, a few rooms (my bedroom didn't) had gas fires set in old fireplaces to keep us warm in winter. I remember early 1960's getting our first B&W TV and watching the 1966 World Cup matches on it. The Final was so stressful, that at 3-2 up I went for a walk around the cul-de-sac where we lived to calm my 12 yr old nerves, and came back to 4-2 up. Perhaps I should take that approach more often with our R's.
