And I thought you were above that sort of thing CT! Glad we have a promotion thread and looking forward to your incisive statistical analysis of our chances CT!
Rick,A little levity is no bad thing.I was above it but since hanging around on GC my standards have slipped somewhat. They are a load of nutters over there and it isn't the most PC place in rhe world, but they make I laugh! As for our chances I would say much better than most thought six weeks back.
Well, this is one bookies view of our chances. Early days I know, but I expect the promoted teams to come from those below. Norwich 13/8 Forest 15/8 Derby 2/1 Watford 11/4 Cardiff 7/2 Wigan 4/1 Blackburn 9/2 Middlesbrough 9/2 Wolves 9/2 Reading 7/1 Bournemouth 8/1 Brighton 9/1 Charlton 12/1 Ipswich 12/1 Brentford 14/1 Mind you, all it needs to change these odds is for a team to go on a winning streak!!!
Very early days as yet but I have to be happy with 6 points and consecutive clean sheets! Maybe just maybe an East Anglia one two in May!
Early days yet Kempy old mate but yes you have struck some decent form but it's not how you start....
Not really, this league is so competitive that if we don't sustain our current form (or close to it), then we'll quickly get swallowed back up into the pack. Despite 5 wins and a draw in 7 games we're only top by a point, and that might well change in less than 24hrs. Long, long way to go yet. Until a gap opens up between us and third, and ideally 7th too, I'm not going to get too carried away.
I'm not getting carried away. If we maintain what we are doing or even drop our away wins and turn in draws will should go up. Not saying we will go up but given the start we have had and our away form it's easy to see why we are the bookies favourite. You also have to bear in mind that the games we have played have been against some top opposition and a derby side. Not saying it's certain but we are looking good. We also have squad depth. edit: another thing, we are winning by large-ish margins away from home whilst playing not very well in the first halves. Then banging them in, gotta be a good sign.
I also think it's pretty exciting that we still haven't seen arguably our best striker yet this season.
Current form would see us finish on 105 points. We're going to drop of at some point but so are other teams. We have a very large strong squad. With the exception if Ruddy I think we could replace every player with a top alternative not to mention players like Vadis (who looked good today) Howson and Hooper haven't played much so we have that to look forward to.
Once again I wake up to find City have bagged another win and another 3 goals - this is awesome stuff Bring on the Brummies!
....or midfielder! I'm getting carried away personally, we're gonna piss this league this season with the quality squad depth and belief we have running through our veins. We've played a lot of so called "tough" games already and come through with flying colours, honestly can't see anyone getting in our way. Chris Hootun currently holds the record points and goals in the championship with Newcastle doesn't he? That's got to be the target this year
