Hull Tigers is an embarrassing name that will have zero or, probably, negative brand value.

Allam has run the club well, but his antics have always been childish and the press conference was the last straw for me. Just get on and sell the club, mate.

But ... the CTWD protest singing has become boring and what i suspect led to the booing tonight was that many fans believe that the protest singing is more about CTWD egos and peer pressure than the good of the club. CTWD has made its point, the FA knows the fans are against the name change, nothing is going to happen for months until this appeal thing, the manager has asked for calm .. just give it a rest. The chants can always be started again if needed. CTWD is becoming like a pub bore and tonight some folk told him to do one.
 
Without taking sides on this, to be honest, wasn't the booing predictable? Steve Bruce asked for no protest and the anthem of CTWD (which when sung at 1904 certainly appears to be) is a protest. Could the fans have been booing the protest?

Too many believe that they have a divine right to be the voice of the average supporter. I personally used to be in awe at those super supporters who could recall going to far off distant lands on wet Tuesday's, but it does not make them "better" supporters and they certainly do not represent me.

The abuse hurled at posters who dared to be supportive of those who booed is as pitiful as anyone who booed in support of Assem Allam.

I posted last week, asking CTWD to distance themselves from any protest and it was pointed out just how wrong I was. Yet now the assumption is that the booing was supportive of Assem Allam and anti CTWD. You cannot have it both ways.

Its about time some on here grew up a little and thought things though before hurling abuse.
 
It was CTWD, we said it all last season.

We sang City Till I Die to show support for our team at 19:04 and for our name, it is a City song after all. It had no affect on the performance of the team and was amazing when we shut up the Manchester United fans when they scored on 19 minutes. It had no effect because we had our best finish and got to the FA Cup final.

Booing, of course is different, because the players don't know if its for them or not.
 
Why do people keep referring to in fighting?

It won't be infighting, it will be hull city fans fighting off infectous parasites that have infiltrated our ranks. Whatever those parasites are, they're not Hull City fans, and they're not human either.

We sold George Boyd for more than Hull Tigers would've brought in. Says it all.

Don't give me all that ****e about wanting us to go backwards & down the leagues. That's Allam talking... and it's utter cobblers.

I'm guessing it got worst past where I read , there's no debate just slagging off


For what it's worth I saw the booing as anti ctwd as opposed to what some frothers
See as anti club or whatever , it would have been better had they sang hull tigers instead of boo

But boo they did and the ctwd group of which I'm a member can't claim to be the only fans voice

WE NEED HIS MONEY!!! And "need" in this case means the difference between a bright future or a return to the lower leagues.
Therefore anyone with an iota of intelligence finds ways to keep the investment knowing that Allam is a temporary aberration and even Ehab would probably end up changing the name back.

The way I heard it, they were booing the notion of CTWD singing at 19:04. It was the only time they booed and the song was sung several times tonight, so saying they were booing the actual song may be wrong.

We never have claimed that.
 
We are divided there is no doubt, and what a shame that is, I thought the only resolution is for Allam to go because if either side get their way it will only leave a large number of city fans in issolation. Of course that said if he does go the pro will only blame the CTWD crew... we've gone down a road now with no return and I fear where it ends.

Those who were booing - and it seemed to me that the boos were coming from 3 stands of the ground - were not (IMO) booing the name of their own team as some have claimed - but were booing the CTWD group. You would have to ask those who booed why they did it bit I would guess it was a)A show of support for AA, b) a sign that CTWD need a fresh approach to remain ahead in the moral argument c) a sign that the so called silent majority don't agree with what CTWD stand for or d) a combination of the above.

Ranting and raving and telling those who booed to eff off or that they are not proper supporters will not advance CTWD's case - and to be fair CTWD have never resorted to name calling and abusive terminology. To win the day CTWD will need to win over the hearts and minds of those who - it appears - clearly disagree with them and to continue doing so through reasoned statements. However, I suspect we may look back on this evening as a significant turning point in the on going name change debate /debacle.
 
People are entitled to their opinion about anything , if you can boo your own fans why not sing something positive ?

Ehab has admitted as much in his interview with Burnsy. The club is solvent at the moment, but it does not have to money to develop beyond where we are now and that is reliant on the manager and the players. Ehab cannot see a way forward as Hull City and wants to have the club commercially profitable away from football, but there is not a business model to follow and so they have to rely on "good old" marketing and re-branding. But the olny thing they can find attractive about Hull is the nickname of the football club. How sad is that, a multi million pound business that has such a superficial thing as a nick name as its biggest asset (in the eyes of its owners).
 
I don't think there is any division in regards of the name change and I think 99% of fans want to be called Hull City.

I think the problem lies in:

- Negativity spreading around the ground and potentially effecting player performances and results.
- People going to watch football as a form of escapism and has now become another source of politics and negativity.
- A lot of the people who appose the name change are aggressive, hostile, militant and pressuring. And many people don't want to be associated with that.
