Funny you should say read. I actually read it in a journal recently.

I agree about the enhancement, but what you gonna do. its better than what i am doing

Your original question implied Global Warming may not be real. Of course it is, and you'd be a ****ing idiot to say otherwise. The effect that mankind has had / is having / will have is more debatable, yes, but that doesn't fit with how you phrased the OP.

Nah its the obesity epidemic

makes sense the weight on the land has increased, leading to the land mass sinking and the water level rising

Now scientifically disprove that

Isostatic uplift?

Do you know that Scotland is rising while the south of England is slowly sinking?

no point in moaning about something that you cant do anything about.

china and america pump trillions of CO2 into the air every second but if you recycle that can of irn bru you'll save the planet.

do me a favour

ST - we are all paying more as a result of 'cutting carbon emissions' - from stealth taxes to charitable donations

Its a bit much I have to pay extra for a plane journey yet we bomb the ****e out of countries with planes and weapons causing a much bigger carbon ****ing footprint

I actually heard (QI- i knoiw not the best source) that keeping a dog has much more of an impoact on your carbon footprint than driving a 4x4. But you wont hear this from cameron etc. its not a vote winner

My original question was just that a question. nothing more. and a valid one

I think the bigger idiot is the one who doesnt question.

The melting of ice has occurred before and there was no human influence that we are aware of. If scientists are to be believed it is happening again. In the search for why they have concluded it is due to human consuption etc. so to ask why it happened before and could it be just nature or a cycle or whatever is actually quite rational.

the old adage of the wiseman says what he thinks and the fool says what he hears may be appropriate, no?

The thing I find funny is that people think buying a hybrid car will help reverse global climate change. <laugh>

Its a cycle, just adapt and overcome, nothing to worry about, although hopefully all the polar bears don't die, I quite like them.

Put simply, it's the rate of 'heating up' that's led some scientists to conclude that climate change is being driven by human activity, mostly as a result of pumping billions of tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

It's a bit like the human body. If you smoke, drink and eat rubbish the chances are you're going to get ill and increase your likelihood of getting things such as cancer. Pump greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and what's likely to happen?

To use an old computer term: GIGO = garbage in, garbage out.

It's really not hard to grasp is it TFWNN.
