Much has been made of United’s activity in the summer transfer window, with the Red Devils spending in the region of £150m on six new signings, including the Deadline Day arrivals of Radamel Falcao and Danny Blind. United, like Harry Redknapp’s QPR, have experimented with the 3-5-2 system so far this season, but whether van Gaal persists with that formation is up for some debate, with the Manchester giants yet to register a win in their four matches in all competitions. Three Premier League fixtures have yielded just two points, whilst the Red were also unceremoniously dumped out of the Capital One Cup by the MK Dons, who hit four without return at the MK: Stadium. Rangers, meanwhile, are also expected to blood new signings for the Super Sunday showdown in the North West. Sandro and Niko Kranjcar could debut, whilst Chilean international hot-shot Eduardo Vargas is also eligible to make his QPR bow, having receiving a working visa during the international break. The R’s head into the fixture buoyed by gaining their first win of the campaign against Sunderland prior to the two-week break, with Charlie Austin’s first half goal getting the R’s season off and underway at Loftus Road. "In spite of us not playing in the Champions League, players are coming to Manchester United. "That is a big plus. But we also have to produce the results - and we have to start on Sunday against Queens Park Rangers." Vargas and Adel to score in the first half. They miss a penalty. Rio to get a header in the 88th min. 0 - 3 to the R's. ..... tears and anger all around the stadia....
Mr 9's, you are the man. Many thanks again for this fine match thread. Hope you had a great holiday mate! U RRRRRRRsss!
I actually thought the same thing when I did it. I was just trying to second guess Harry. You're up late mate. How was Kate Bush?
After listening to an ex Utd player telling us he needed time for his team of amazing aquisitions to gel for so long (Hughes), I really hope they need to and we can get three points today... Come on you Rrrrrs...
Our left side is the worry, Di Maria could think it's open house. Hill doesn't have pace and Traore can't defend, will Harry play YSY? I think we all know the answer to that...
I just hope we put up a decent performance. Hopefully a lot better than at White Hart Lane so we dont need to be ashamed of.
somewhat dreading today. Head says that this will be a repeat of the Tottenham fiasco with our players giving them too much respect. That part does not necessarily bother me - 3 pts next weekend against a fellow non-top 8 team is far more valuable. Dreading today more because of the non-stop Manure love-in from the media (thankfully I live abroad so I don't have to be subjected to it as much as others). There will be some stuff about Rio returning to OT, but apart from that our players will be an afterthought (unless they are mentioning the ridiculous "QPR to be relegated to the conference" non-journalism that has come up lately). We need to come out of the blocks fast like on New Years Day of 92 and unsettle them early rather than playing it like we are a non-league team in the 3rd Round of the Cup, just honoured to be there....
Agree Igor. Considering this match will be shown live around the world and many people will be watching us for the first time we can do without an embarrassing performance. Id pay good money for 3pts or even a draw but I cant help feeling Utd will ease to a 2 or 3 -0 victory with the quality of their team. Come on you Rs please prove me wrong.
Just about to leave the hotel in Manchester for a liquid lunch and on to Old Trafford later. Had a brilliant day in Blackpool yesterday. Spent the afternoon in a pub there talking to a great lad who supports Rotherham. We were both reminiscing about our respective victories at Wembley back in May. He told me, QPR, Rotherham and Fleetwood all shared the same dressing room at Wembley which was something I was not aware of. I even won a spot the ball in the pub and won £25. Jammy sod or what. Looking forward to a good game today and hopefully a draw at least. The flight home tonight will be packed with United fans and will be very painful if we lose. Here's to a good day. Come on you R's.
Mmm........I'm not a fan but Mrs r is a life long one. It was actually much better than I was expecting. I suppose I should put the rest on the appropriate thread.
