Garry Monk has had a magical start to the Premier League season, wins against Manchester United, Burnley and West Brom putting his Swansea second in the table, behind Chelsea.
And Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is suitably impressed, picking Monk as one of their four 'new wizards' managing in European football.

You dont expect foreign papers to know Huw runs everything ...lol just clowning around valley , before you call me onto the mat.

So I'll refrain from mentioning that one swallow does not a spring make .... not even three. We have a long way to go yet ... enthusiasm is great, accolades can wait.

That's true, but his performances have been good enough to get noticed. They have just picked four new managers, so I don't suppose all of them will make the grade in the end. Even if Monk doesn't make the grade I think he deserves more credit than he's getting from some. He's a rookie manager thrown in at the deep end so has a lot of learning to do and will make a lot of mistakes. Not an us vs them but just an observation. I agree that it's too early to tell, but I think if another team had a manager like Monk he'd be getting more credit from many on here.

That's why I said enthusiasm is great ... live the moment and enjoy it.

Who's not giving him credit? Haven't seen anyone not doing so here, it's just that some aren't getting carried away yet. As Yankee says, long way to go - and he's right. Nothing wrong with that attitude and it doesn't make you less of a Swans fan. Just thought I'd mention that before the usual posters use this thread as an excuse to start the infighting again. <ok>

Monk looks like he is on his way to becoming a good manager, like a lot of fans i was worried when he was giving the job as its a risk but if it works then well done the board.

I think he has done superb so far, but as others have said lets not get ahead of ourselves. He will prove himself when we hit our bad patch (which will happen) and how he reacts to it and how he gets us out of it. I am sure when the time comes he will step up to the mark and prove he is as good as most think.

Monk just like Martinez is a born leader and someone who takes his job seriously. I have never had any doubts about him whatsoever and i predict now that he will be a target within a couple of seasons for a bigger club. He has all the attributes to go all the way in his chosen career....does it come as a surprise that teams home and abroad are already sitting up and taking notice of monk ? not to me it doesn't...<ok>

Roof, there is no need for you to continue to get involved in spats that don't concern you.

Pack it in all of you or it's bye bye for a few days. Had a titful of reading this nonsense on every thread.

Final warning for the bulls**t <ok>
