I was day-dreaming about Ben Arfa running at the opposition - gliding effortlessly between three or four players before releasing Hernandez to nonchalantly curl the ball around the diving keeper into the far corner. I like being able to day-dream about my team again.
A mate of mine (from Hull) just rang me and, together, we mused/speculated on the very good chance of some ****offery in the next two games: Spammers at the KC - Diame's spoutings have pissed them off a bit; Ben Arfa at St. James' Park - although he can't play, he'll be there and the Mags will be incensed and very critical of Pardew. Victory in both games will be something to savour.......
It's really quite painful, having to wait until Monday night to watch our "new team" play. We seem to have discussed Ben Arfa a lot on here. That is understandable, as we know what he can do, because weve already seen him,and he's clearly a very exciting prospect for us. The one i'm most looking forward to seeing though is Hernandez, because we really don't have much to go on. We paid £10m for a striker we(as supporters) know very little. And then there might be fitness issues with Benny and Ramirez to be sorted before we get to see them. These are exciting times for Hull city fans. I'm just feeling a bit frustrated with my own impatience. Now which one of you twats, is gonna be first to type TWT ? **** off in advance
We normally do well at home against a usually strong and awkward WHU. Last season we battled to three excellent points in a 1-0 win. We need the same this time. Therefore, should Bruce bang all the exciting new fish straight in? As tempting as it seems, I’m not so sure. I’d be tempted to start Hernandez (mainly due to a lack of striker options) and Diame (football rules mean he’s a potential goal scorer in this match) but as mentioned by others on this thread, and with regard to fitness, probably therefore start with Ben and Ramirez on the bench. We need to improve/evolve etc and hopefully our stronger squad will translate to a genuine participation in all competitions, but I really hope the likes of Quinn aren’t instantly sidelined.
Apologies. I do now realise that when I wrote Hernandez it might have been perceived that I was actually referring to Juan Orlando Hernandez. Hopefully, I haven’t caused anyone any distress. Hopefully a mod will close this thread this soon as I’m worried about what might happen if not.
You despair too soon, my friend. This game (posting, not football) is like Chinese Whispers - just as it strays from the OP's first posting, so it can be steered back..... Now: what's the odds on Diame scoring (assuming he plays)?
Biggest fear that I have with Diame, is that it could end up in a red card for Diame/Nolan or both, he'll be up for it and so will Nolan.
Nolan is a ****ing prick! I hope someone snaps the scouse ****wit! Worth red card just to see him squirm! too brutal?????????
In pub last night, got talking to a Newcastle fan. It was the first time I can remember where a stranger has honestly had nothing but praise for my club, its players, its manager and its owners. Sure, he was down on all of this for his club, but he was genuinely respectful and full of praise for everything we've done and achieved in the past couple of years. He said he'd love to see Brucie as their manager but, it wouldn't be in Brucies interest as he has a better job where he is with no interference. Plus they have a group of small minded nobbers who won't ever forgive him for managing the Mackems. Mint an that. He was pissed off that Ben Arfa's not had a chance, he said he hoped he could become the player he couldn't at the Toon and under Brucies tutelage. He was at the Chelsea game with the solo effort goal and his eyes misted over as hye recounted that to me. He also said, as a few other clubs fans have, that although he see's how exciting the Ben Arfa, the Hernandez might seem, for him, our absolute best signings were Diame and Ramirez and he's gobsmacked either team let them go. All I know is that I too have way more hope and anticipation for the forthcoming season than I've ever had, and I am usually quite upbeat anyhow.
Haha Leon, your'e right, Nolan is injured. Ravel Morrison will probably take his place. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...olan-faces-six-weeks-fracturing-shoulder.html
Good thing. Nolan, amongst other things, is a decent player and an agent provocateur. Not looked into the story much so maybe way out, but I thought Ravel was on some sort of rape charge?
The only problem is that Hernandez has flown half way around the world, will be jet lagged, and only maybe a day or two training with his new team mates. I think he may come on off the bench. Though at least he has a bit of extra time as we play Monday evening.
