Mario is a class player - He is an excellent player and I think that Brendan is the man to manage and get the best out of him.

He's a better option than Welbeck!!!

That Sturridge is out v Villa is a big loss and it will put undue pressure on Mario. However, the Villa game shouldn't be used as a measuring stick. Mario is not here to take upon him lone striker duties - he is to be partners with Sturridge. Of course, the odd time he will have to perform without Sturridge, but I for one, will consider that a bonus. I think he, Sturridge and Sterling complement one another very well.

Speaking about horses.... Welbeck is one. Good horse, good lad, good ethic, good fundamentals and can be an effective blunt weapon in a certain setup, but he just doesn't have Mario's toolbox. Far from it. He just doesn't have the finesse of Mario or his incisive instincts. Quite understandable, being that one was raised in Manchester and the other one in Italy.

this could end up being a good thing for us or a total mess.

we need to start seeing goals from mario and we also need Lambert to find the back of the net, hopefully both will play and start firing, be better for when sturridge comes back to have a striker on the bench in lambert who has found form and when he comes on nick a goal (was the reason why we got him wasn't it?)

like i said this could go 2 ways, just hope we come out of this ok, getting fed up with why our players keep getting injured on int duty and mainly play full 90 mins.

could also be a good thing for the younger players to get more game time depending on how we line up without sturridge formation wise ie will mario and lambert play together in games, so may see more game time for Markovic,lallana,coutinho etc.

maybe paul, position we are in though at the moment, would rather have a player who is unpredictable, than not have one, last one we had in luis almost helped us get the title, if mario can do that as well, well i am going to enjoy the ride.

Badontelly has an excellent scoring record and frankly removing all bias possible welbeck is very average and many utd fans have told me so long before Lvg decided he's not up to it

you're just saying that as you went through the fans anger/delight/and all the emotions when he was with you. Manchini is an old school manager, Rodgers is new school, and I truly believe given time Rodgers will get the best out of Mario.

A recent example -

Balotelli vs Spurs

Takes a pop at goal fro 40(ish) yards completely ****s it up - Rodegers smiles and has a little clap.

If the same incident had of happened under Manchini he would have been screaming at Balotelli and probably subbed him.



They have completely different man management skills. Balotelli fits the Rodgers mould far more than the aggressive Manchini way.

It was interesting how differently the media's take on it was at white hart lane,if that performance from him had been in a City shirt he would've been slaughtered but apparently it was a great start from him when the reality was he had a poor game
