Who do you pick


Henderson, local lad and good midfield player

Wickham, young lad with big reputation but unknown striker
 
Wickham for me and this is why I feel for the Bruce, he will never please all the people all the time. Life is a bitch at times but today its a happy bitch.
 
loved henderson but frustrated me when he played in c.m. (not his fault he's ****e in that position). i will always follow his career with intrest and enthusiasm but it's too early to choose as wickham hasn't kicked a ball for us yet, ask us next year syd

Whickham, we need a big strong lad upfront. We've got rid of a very average midfielder for £20m and brought in a similar but more rounded and better player in Larsson for free. I wish henderson well but I can't help but think we've mugged liverpool of about 14mill. Very telling that man utd and man city went from keen to no thanks the more they saw of him and fergie is desperate for new midfielders. Can't tackle, can't pass, not quick, not strong, decent cross from wide right when there's only one option and he doesn't have to.engage his brain. 20 million ching ching!
 
Not Bruces biggest fan syd but, I'd go for Whickham so he has kept me happy so far that is. Henderson is a very good winger terrible CM but is still young enough to become a very good player, just a pity we don't have the where with all to bring him on whereas Liverpool have. I think that is why Bruce sold him (the 20mil might have helped as well though) he realised that he was as good as he was going to be for us, couple that with his lack of versatility (not being able to cover at CM) and although I am loathe to say I think Bruce made the right decision. With Whickham we have a clean slate to improve and if we get 2 good seasons out of him I'll be happy and, we'll be able to sell on without a loss if the big lads come a calling.
 
Difficult one for me this as I found myself swearing in my head every time Henderson made a sideways pass to the full back instead of driving forward with the ball. There is no doubt the lad had talent but take off the rose tinted glasses and he would not have got in our first 11 last year (if everyone had been fit) he might have got in at right wing but if Campbell had been fit then it would have been tough for him. On the other hand Wickham is totally unproven at this level.

I would rather have Whickam and 7 million quid. if its one of the other with no money probably Henderson.
