But the point is, Celtic were playing the "Rules are rules" card against Legia to get back into the CL.

Now that they haven't registered Guidetti on time they want fifa to bend the rules.

From the BBC

The SFA and SPFL are in the process of contacting football's world governing body Fifa to ask for dispensation to register John Guidetti at Celtic.

The SPFL is satisfied that all the paperwork was in order but as it was filed after midnight on deadline day, a case is now being made for the deal to be allowed to proceed.

Peter Liewell of the SPFL is trying to do Peter Liewell of Celtic a favour - (Aye sporting integrity) <laugh>

To be fair, Celtic didn't play *any* card against Legia. They waited for UEFA to make their decision and abided by it.

If we're not allowed to register Giudetti and we play him anyway as a last minute sub after we've tonked your mob 6-1, then feel free to cry "hypocrite" <laugh>

Won't need to cry, as we will get a 6-1 tanking turned over to a 3-0 win "hypocrite".

This is true.

Here we have 23 pages on sporting integrity because Legia made a slight admin error, yet Celtic made an error trying to sign a player from Man City and are now writing to Fifa to have the decision turned around.

To be honest i was taking the piss, still caught a few tiddlers.

Celtic will win the league by a country mile so it would make no sense to sign him now.

Celtic would need to register Guidetti with UEFA before the end of Tuesday in order for him to be eligible for the Europa League group stages.

To be fair I remember a team finishing bottom of the league and having to play a play off even though the club they were due to play didn't meet stadia criteria. The SPL said to them , no you don't have to play Falkirk, but this club said we shall play Falkirk it is the right thing to do. Stand ehm.....free.
