I used to wonder what all the fuss was about him until I actually watched him and now I see why. The guy is genuinely brilliant, as good as Messi and Rooney were at 19. Sturridge is a pretty good player and will have a good career in the premiership but he will never be in the same class as Neymar. One of the few players around who is actually worth £40 million.
Maybe I'll spend a bit of time on you tube and check some more out, but don't forget Messi and Rooney were playing at the top level when they were 19...
He was the best player in a team than won the copa libertadores though. The quality may not be as high as in the champions league but the pressure is just as great.
Other top south american's like Pato, Kaka came to Europe for 20 odd million so if 4 of the top/richest clubs are willing to pay double that, I'm sure he must already be a top player and have bags of potential to boot. Stand by that he will end up at Madrid though. Maybe we can get him for a cut price in a couple of years when they ruin or under value him like Robben and Sneijder!!
