The first huge mistake made by the Pozzos since they came here. Hope Dyer is happy with himself too...
I don't think Beppe will want another English job. I get the feeling he needs to get back to his own language.
A shame, had a real passion for the game and for the club, but seems not all the players took to him. Did seem to be a short-term fix last season to get us out of a hole, so was surprised he stayed on. The 'resignation' seems more like leave on good terms or you're going!! As for who's next, does seem to be out of Galli and Oscar Garcia. Might have to ask my Brighton-supporting friend of what he was like. I would like to see Gibbs come back in, in some capacity since he left his role... If we want to keep the 3-5-2, then maybe Hoddle. Rate him as a coach, and think he'd demand that respect, but can't see it
I feel a bit uncomfortable about the whole situation to be honest. Having a quick look at Galli's Twitter account seems to tell a story certainly, and not a very subtle one.
Honestly can you believe it? We knew there were problems but I just assumed he was hanging on regardless while busily winning games. Not sure what either Garcia or Galli offer us but seemingly we can turn a good position into a drama (hopefully not a crisis) much like so many other clubs. Wonder what impact it has on transfers in or out tomorrow - probably all in Nani's hands anyway.
I don't know what has been happening out of our sight, but I do believe that there is a tale to be told that may or not come out. It was clear that if you read and listened carefully to both Frank Smith and Jon Marks they did know more than us. The WO would not have come out with their story unless they were certain that things were happening, and Jon marks was quite guarded in some of his comments last Tuesday. If he was to go having started the season, this was the obvious time with no game for a fortnight. I am almost sure also that he would not have left without a replacement already in the frame to take over.
Who would be a journalist? Writing on a Sunday evening when you could have your feet up. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ree_candidates_to_replace_Sannino_at_Watford/
Why the surprise? It's the Huddersfield victory after red cards syndrome again. Last time it happened we got some bloke whose previous visit to the Vic had been an embarrassment (mind you, Scully did play well). On a serious note, I do feel for Beppe. He steadied the ship after GZ had run out do ideas and, excluding the last four games of last season, did okay. However, there are so many rumours it does seem as if the whole thing was ready to implode, and the Pozzos expect promotion this season.
I think by resigning in a gentlemanly fashion Beppe has secured an affectionate part in our hearts. His "caretaker" role over the last year has been successful and he will be remembered for steadying the ship as others have mentioned. Also his last gamein charge is one we will remember very well with the passion of the crowd on the day. Thanks Beppe and good luck as you move on - you just were probably not the man who could take us into the Premiership.
