Bits and bobs coming out now that it's Spurs who are the team closing in on him, not us.

One link for starters:

This is the website that article quotes

It is almost certain , before the summer transfer window at midnight on Sunday , Sadio Mane will leave Red Bull Salzburg , which he joined after the JO2012 . According to a source close to the player , winger Lions courted a time by German clubs (Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen) and English ( Southampton and Tottenham) was in London on Thursday. His advisers are also agreed with Spurs which however are still negotiating with the Austrian club for a transfer at around 10 million.

Could it be that Les Reed identified Mane when Poch was with us and then Reed has put suggested him to Koeman? I don't know what it is about Spurs but they always seem to be linked to almost every player and tend to come in on the scene quite late. A Liverpool fan I know was moaning about this last summer when they were interested in Konoplyanka.

Skysports seem to suggest we're the ones who are closing in on a deal for him.

When did they say that?

According to a article on that site:

We have bid €15m
Spurs €12m

But he has. €20m release clause.

Bryan Swanson said it when they were doing a transfer round up. Said it was edging ever closer tonight. But as with anything, they've been wrong before.

Thats alot of money for a bit of depth

Even though J Rod will be back November time, he'll take months to trust his knee properly, get the explosiveness back etc. He won't be the player he was last year until next season, even if he can after the injury.

I am not convinced Jayrod will be here next summer, maybe even gone in January.

Anymore news on why he was pulled from goals on Sunday.

Fair one . Fingers crossed he comes back strong

If Spurs do get him, then they will have to get rid of one or two tomorrow, surely. Not only are the full of forwards who aren't strikers, but they appear to be on the limit of a 25 man squad/17 non-homegrown players.
