Leon (when back), Carroll or Fulton <ok>

Why the concern about Ki? I thought you didn't rate him

Look a bit nesh after the clatter with the keeper ... early days:smile:

TBF - he's been excellent in the position he's played but I can't see a natural quality replacement on left - if only there was a tough CB and decent left back we'd be quite some outfit <laugh>

Lets have another look at this after the next 3 games. Chelsea, Southampton and Sunderland. Then after 3 harder games will be a little easier to judge. Whilst the results have been excellent, it is hard to judge how good or bad the opposition were.

Agreed, we should all be closer opionion wise when we are on 18 points after those next 3 games .......<ale><hug> <whistle>

How many defenders do you want ;)
We need a DM though <whistle>

Plastic: I was at the game so I do "support the team" and have done for many many years. Do you? You're not DragonPhil by any chance are you? <whistle>

Secondly, "So why are you always making out that we're no good."

I have made these comments about our team over the last couple of weeks:

"We were awesome"
"We were excellent"
"Monk deserves credit"
"We've been saying how great we played and rightly so"
"Siggy was excellent"
"Amat dealt with everything"
"Dyer and Routledge were immense"

So your comment is complete and utter ****e. You received a ban recently for winding people up here so I suggest you rethink your approach to the forum. I was merely pointing out, as was pembroke - that we have to keep our feet on the ground. You cannot dispute that Man U are poor at the mo. You cannot dispute that Burnley are newly promoted and you cannot dispute that most of the Baggies new signings didn't play.

I reiterate - as you seem to be a little slow - you can only beat what is put in front of you and so far we've been excellent and Monk deserves enormous credit for that - but imo we haven't had a really big test yet so let's see where we are after ten games.

Fair enough, I agree you support the team. But I just feel there's always an undercurrent of making excuses for our win. Even if we played poor teams we still one. Other teams have played poor opposition and haven't won. Even if the teams we played are poor, we still have the best defensive record (only 1 goal) conceded, and are 3rd top scorers (after Chelsea and Liverpool).

If the other teams were poor, then that's because we had something to do with it. Before we played Man U, almost everyone said we would certainly lose and all we could hope for was trying to concede as few as possible. I'm sure some on here expected us to lose 5-0 or more. So before the match we were playing a top side, but because we won, many (including you) now seem to be putting the win down to us playing a poor side. You can't have it both ways.

And we have a rookie manager who many on here think is out of his depth. And we have lost Michu, Ben Davies and others than many on here meant would ake us relegation candidates. So aren't we the weak time that everyone should be beating? But they're not.

You just don't seem to be giving the team the credit it deserves. Even a 3-0 win isn't enough for you. You still want to make excuses for that. If we'd beaten WBA 10-0 you'd say they were a poor team.

If we win the next three, the usually suspects will claim Chelsea had a bad day or had someone injured, Southampton are useless and Sunderland are poor, blah blah blah. If we lose against Chelsea, which is quite possible, they'll all be doom and gloom. It's a top of the table clash 1 vs 2, and even the big teams lose those matches very often. But I think we might manage a point. Would be great if we could win though.

What we do from here could be anything . What we 've done till now makes anyone thinking of leaving leaning to staying . A brilliant start on many levels . My money would be on relegation rather than top 6 , just a better bet...money's money !

And an easy game for Arsenal against newly promoted opposition. Oops, that didn't quite work out. I bet Leicester fans aren't claiming they got a draw because Arsenal are in disarray.

Even with 9 points already? I can't see any prospect of us being relegated.

Middle of the table would be my bet somewhere between 10th and 15th and that would be an excellent first season for monk. We must not get carried away as we have had a comfortable first 3 games with as it has turned out not much of a challenge. Lets see how we do against some strong opposition that wont let us play our natural game and see how we cope with that. I mean teams like stoke, saints, spurs and everton teams we should be on par with by now...we seem to go to pieces against teams of that caliber and i want to see if there is any improvement before i think we can go above 10th spot.

I can see a better prospect in relegation , than top 6 ..anyone thinking we will finish top 6 better keep their money in their pocket and live a false happiness a bit richer .

<doh> Roof, just because you can see doom and gloom everywhere doesn't mean you have to share it. Nobody realistically thinks we're going to finish top 6 but I for one would just like to enjoy being joint top of the premier while it lasts. If you can't enjoy that then you'll never enjoy anything. Moan about the **** once it's happened, if it happens at all.

Whats doom and gloom got to do with betting relegation over top 6 ... relegation could happen , top 6 is a fantasy. Doom and gloom is believing we wont finish top 6 , good thing you said that , cause I didnt .. only comparing the two options no brainer really

Some need everything explained , especially wen they state something without thinking ..back to the mountains and camping ...enjoy

Plastic: "You just don't seem to be giving the team the credit it deserves."

Yet more ****e. Check my ****ing posts. Not enough you had to retract your earlier remark about me not supporting the team (hence your "fair enough you suppport the team" comment but an apology would have been better!) but you now spout more drivel. I've even posted a thread on how good Amat was for ****'s sake. Get off your ****ing high horse and criticise someone who deserves it!

I have said REPEATEDLY how well our team has played this season but you cannot ignore the unequivocal and completely unarguable facts about the opposition because it suits you. If you don't like the 'undercurrents' in my posts then talk to someone who gives a flying ****.
