Personally a good day to be a SAFC fan with the signing of Connor Wickham from Ipswich but how do you think he will use him and will he be the major striker signing this summer?

IMO I think Brucie will blood him in slowly and keep the limelight off the lad, get him to grips with the prem with 15minutes here, 25mins there for the first dozen or so games to get the lad upto speed with the league and to get to know his new team mates.

I also dont think Wickham will be the major striker signing, going to be an exciting summer for us SAFC fans. Gardner and Ji before the weekend aswell by the looks of things.

If he's good enough he's old enough. Lets see what he does in training. Who knows?

I think he will be eased into the EPl not chucked in at the deep end.

He cant have the burden of scoring all of our goals at 18 years old. He has to be given time and support which he will get in droves at the club.

We still need another striker to support Gyan IMO and I ve said it all day. I'd go for Welbeck for 15m.

If we don't sign this as yet unconfirmed marquee striker, pretty sure he will be going in at the deepend.

I expect he'll be thrown in at the deep end. approx 10 mill for wickham, 5-6 mill for Gardner, 12 million on the table for United trio, still searching for left winger....i can't see us splashing out big on another striker.

Considering how Gyan was introduced into the premiership, despite being one of the best players at the World Cup and our transfer record, I reckon the same will happen with Wickham. I hope we get an established prem striker, then we will have (assuming dong signs) 6, probably with Noble out on loan (hopefully not sold)
