Anyone watching the penalty shoot-out between Ludogrets and Steaua? Ludogrets are without a goalkeeper, so an outfield player's in goal!

Edit: And their Centre Back saves two penalties to put them through!

Also really pleased to see Malmo make the group stage, first Swedish team in 14 years. Their second goal tonight was ridiculous...

Knott's goal for Bradford against Leeds tonight is a stunner too.

I'm not convinced that some of the bigger teams don't just ditch this cup at the first opportunity.Too many upsets for them to be trying very hard.

The Villa fans were apparently calling for Lamberts head. Oh how the mighty are fallen.

I have to say I think the Villa fans are pathetic. They have massive delusions of grandeur about this sort of thing, when the reality is look at their poor side and the funds Lambert has at his disposal. They were never going to mount a serious challenge in the League Cup and while it is a poor result for them, they played a weakened and imbalanced team. I would say they should actually be delighted with their team, given their PL position despite the lack of investment in the squad (which has meant Lambert has been forced to reinstate the likes of Hutton and Bent).

If they have a gripe, it should be with the owner who is no longer willing to invest.

and this is why i found lambert's decision to move to villa park the most baffling of all because he knew this would be the case, although, as we now have more information about the fall out at carrow road it seems he'd have gone anywhere to get away! i mean, he even went for the leeds job for goodness sake. desperate or what? ;)

Potentially....

Quite
Poor
Recruitment

......seeing as they're interested in Bassong!!

[sorry - rubbish comment, just seen it's Palace who are the mad fools]
