Hello all.

Apologies if this has been discussed before but where will Di Maria play in your new formation?

Am asking as I'm thinking of putting him in my dream team but if he is going to play as DM as Januzaj played last week, I'll consider someone else.

Thanks.

Rafael----Evans---------Rojo-----Shaw
----------------Carrick--------------
---------Herrera-------Mata----------
Di Maria-----------------------Januzaj
----------------Rooney------------

Think we're a bit top heavy with the likes of Rooney, RVP, Di Maria, Mata, Januzaj, Kagawa etc. Read somewhere that LVG likes to play a holding (Carrick), number 8 (Herrera) and a no 10 (Mata) as his 3 so maybe that. One big name will have to be dropped though, and not sure if Mata has the work rate to play there

No RVP? No Jones?
Still think its a HUGE mistake having Shaw as your first choice left back too. Far too young to play first team in a squad with Champions League aspirations.

I'd have RVP in there ahead of Rooney, Rooney has been **** this season but he's just been made captain so can't see him being dropped anytime soon.

Jones - no. Too rash. Shaw is great, got no worries about him

He really isn't

I think we're more likely to see Carrick, Herrera and Di Maria in a three man midfield, like Ancelotti did with Alonso, Modric and Di Maria for Real last season. Then Mata, Rooney and RVP as an attacking three, with Januzaj coming off the bench. Alternatively we may see a 352:

-----------------DDG-----------------
-------Jones----Evans----Rojo--------
Rafael---------------------------Shaw
---------Herrera-----Di Maria----------
----------------Mata-----------------
-----------Rooney--RVP---------------

Either way, I think Di Maria has been bought more to be a box to box style midfielder than a winger.

That formation would make sense to me too. Unless LVG has more buys up his sleeve.

The trouble with playing a midfield 3 of Carrick, Herrera and Di Maria and switching to a 433, is that it doesn't really fix our problem on the flanks. LVG came out a few weeks ago and said the reason we can't play a 433 is because we don't have a world class winger like ronaldo or di maria. We'll we've got one now. If he plays in midfield, and Rooney, RVP and Mata are playing, then 2 of them will be playing out of position. It's a nice headache to have but still a headache

True, but then if Di Maria plays on the wing then we will also have two of Rooney, RVP and Mata either not playing or playing out of position. Can't see us fitting a number ten, two strikers and attacking wingers into the same formation, which probably implies we won't have a settled formation up front, but will be mixing it about depending on the opponents.

I guess we will find out what he is thinking in the next few days - if we are still in for other CMs then Di Maria is likely to end up on the wings, if not then he may be playing in the centre.

I am certain he's going to play in the green grassy bit, with the white edges. It's the bit in the middle surrounded by the stands at virtually every club in England

I thought that was how many years it will be before United win the Premier League again....<whistle>

Nah thats less than 3 <ok>

It might be how many years before you make another £1 profit.

Can i ask, what happens when you run out of players to sell? Where will your money come from?
