I'm staggered at the sense of self entitlement that is being expressed. Are you sure one or two of you wouldn't be better off selecting Manchester City? They seem to be likely to deliver success to their "fans" this year. And then, if they don't deliver for you, I'm sure there'll be another team you could swap to.

All this negativity based on the hope of instant success and lashing out because it doesn't look like it will happen.

I've supported Rangers since 1967 at the age of 9 - when my Dad took me to Loftus Road and we climbed up the open concrete steps of the South Africa Road terrace. Once I saw the green of the pitch and the ramshackle stand opposite I was hooked.

Yes, we've had some good times on the pitch, but it's been mainly less than that. The joy of being a supporter has never waned, though. I don't know what it is about our funny little club that hooked me and keeps me hooked, but I do know that you need to feel the pain of failure to appreciate the joy of success - because that joy doesn't come too often.

We are not entitled to expect our club to win the Premiership every year. We are not entitled to expect our team to win every game. The fact there is money available to buy new players does not mean that it is the best strategy for Rangers, nor is there any guarantee that those new players will instantly gel and give Barcelona a run for their (rather vast) money.

And you know what? If it did, it wouldn't be the Rangers that I know and love. But on those odd occasions when it does, it feels fantastic!

Get behind the players and staff. Be patient. Be positive. Set your expectations to a realistic level and hope for survival this year as a springboard for something slightly better next year.

    Enjoy the ride!

    Well done Big Dipper.
All I expect is to go along for the ride....You have to have lows to experience what the highs are.

The Rs and Arry have my support...I expect nothing but for them to do their best (for them, for me...for us all)
    Come on u RRRRRs

If we are getting 100% effort from the team, the team will have 100% support from me.

On the contrary mate, on top form. The reactions to the reactions on here are great value.

If, however, I find myself sitting in traffic on the A40 late next Saturday afternoon having witnessed anything like yesterday's showing, I may get a little irate.

I made myself watch the 'highlights' on MOTD2. Made me grateful that Hansen has retired.

    Good post dipper.

However, one thing I would say is this; when fans have parted with an awful lot of hard earned cash to go and watch the club, or be a member or whatever, they are entitled to criticise as much or as little as they want. This also obviously applies to fans who can't attend games for whatever reason.

If Harry makes stupid selections, we are entitled to rip into him, especially on a forum which is designed for that very purpose, amongst other things.

Come Saturday though, I will be there, supporting the team as always.

Great post Dipper, agree totally. Although we should be able to expect the team to give 100% every game. Didn't see yesterday's game but I thought we showed enough against Hull to believe we are better equipped than last time.

Good op, Big Dipper. I agree we have to rein in our expectations and stay patient. Fan frustration can damage the confidence of the players on the pitch, which is fragile as we saw at the Hull game, when, after a reasonable first half, we got 20 minutes of headless chickens after conceding the goal. Obviously I'm looking for improved performances, evidence of tactical guile from the new Redknapp/Hoddle partnership, a positive spirit within the dressing room and 100% effort from the players from the first whistle to the last. If we get those, with the quality of players we have now, results will come

It was the manner of defeat much more than the actual loss which grates. I've been an 'R' since 66 and, like you, savour the occasional great moments, their rarity enhances the euphoria. I know this season will be a slog, I just want to know these highly paid stars are going to sweat blood for the badge, if we do go down all guns blazing I, as a supporter, will at least know we couldn't have tried any harder, unlike our previous relegation...
