I didn't think you'd capitulate like that after our game with you last week. You weren't expected to get anything from today's game. The key is to get points against your relegation rivals: Palace; us; Sunderland; Burnley; Leicester; West Brom; Swansea; Villa; Southampton; Newcastle; West Ham.

I think it's inevitable that there will be a few more players coming in, Harry had said as much even before the game today. What I find truly amazing is how many posters have turned on our new signings already, nothing like a bit of patience is there?

    Thanks mate.

So there it is............not one holding midfielder. This was never going to work away at Spurs.

I'm embarrassed and worried by this selection.

Fer started out as a holding midfielder at Feyenoord, even got nicknamed 'The Bouncer'. He didn't look like one today though.

To be honest we were so overrun in midfield at times I wondered if we had any midfielders on the field Fer was poor Mutch got lost and Barton lost the ball too much but to be fair to him nobody was giving any outlet and he did find Phillips with a long ball that should have been a goal.

Mutch doesn't look in the same class as Faurlin imo. Worrying selection decisions from Harry today.

Yep...I don't buy the 'time to gel' argument. I know teams need to learn how to work together, but that is the job of a manager, to plan ahead, get players in so they have time to learn how to work together before they start getting beaten 4-0 and looking clueless. I have no doubt that it will improve, but I think we all can say it was not fun watching today, and not really any positives to take away from it!

    Sensible guest, well done.

We have 14 games to go without a win before we 'better' that record so not overly worried - yet! We could have won the Hull game on another day. Many twists and turns to come.

I also wanted to say that I do not have the same feeling that I had after the Swansea 5-0 game that I will always remember the match report you wrote as I didn't/couldn't disagree with a word, very ominous.

Although we were poor by any standard i feel that we have some kind of platform to build upon and grow throughout season.

Just back from the game. Thought we were absolutely awful. Sat with some Spurs mates and they said they felt sorry for me! I only saw the second half goal close up and know much less than many on here about tactics so will stay out of that debate, but felt too many had their heads down early on and didn't play for the shirt. We started 3 players bought from relegated teams but they all seemed resigned to losing almost the moment the first goal went in. On the basis of that performance we are going to struggle all year.

I had the misfortune of listening to that on 5 live whilst driving down from Derbyshire.

Couldn't even stop to kick something in frustration!

What I can accept is having some players who are not or are borderline Premier League quality

What I can't accept is the lack of effort / basic mistakes (poor passing, taking unnecessary risks when in possession in defence etc) / lack of fitness

All of the players in the squad are good footballers or they wouldn't be professional players; sadly today we witnessed too much of what I can't accept, together with some out and out poor management

It was always going to be a struggle this season - the PL is a brutal environment - but we need to see a very rapid and permanent improvement or it will be back to the likes of Elland Road and the New Den next season. We can't rely on there being 3 poorer teams than us. On the (very initial) evidence so far there aren't

I trust some people's expectations have been given a severe reality check today.

And now I'm home the cat has received a severe reality check.

( only joking animal lovers! ) lets all take stock of the last 2 games. First one lost but by all accounts not a bad display and today was just one of those days....

Still a long way to go!

Harry has a blind spot for certain players. At this level against Spurs playing Dunne was always going to leave the player, the team and us the fans horribly exposed. Its the same with Faurlin. I honestly think Harry doesnt rate him

i don't think Arry rates Ale or Adel. Both of them look a class above Fer and Much, but it is early days.
