Can't believe we got you to part with £10 million for Fer. His performance today was so typical of his play for us last season. Strolls around like he hasn't a care in the world and hardly breaking sweat.

A late consolation goal left begging by Caulker.

Match stats - Spurs 4 goals from 6 shots on target - 1 shot on target for us.

So what have we learned today? Pre-season is coming back to haunt us. I still personally think Triore isn't good enough at this level. Dunne shouldn't have been given a years extension cos he is too slow at his level. Rio???????? Barton couldn't deliver a paper let alone a set piece. We need to learn to pass in a way that it makes it to it's intended receiver. The system doesn't look like it's going to work. I could probably keep going and make this longer that a PHD thesis. I know Tottenham are a top 6 side but that doesn't excuse the basic errors from the players and the management.

So...positives....
The second half was so much better than the first (2/10 rather than 1/10)
Ned plays ahead of Dunne
Phillips is not a no10...but we have Vargas
Faurlin is more effective than an unfit Fer or Barton

Another positive.,.....we know how bad we are and we are bottom...the only way is up
Anything else

I think rock bottom comes after the Burton game....

There was so much bad about todays performace its hard where to start however two players for that stood out for different reasons were Matty Phillips was awful not because of the miss his general play and awareness is just not prem level, hope he improves to prove me wrong.

On the other side Faulin looked so comfortable and did nothing wrong and created some positve play he may not be the fastest but he doesn't need to be as his vision and accuracy is second to none. He must start every game he can.

Second half much better than first half. Dunne unfortunately has had his day and this showed today. Faurlin and Ned need to start as they added so much to our play. 352 doesnt seem to be working (concede 3 today) but a flat back four ( concede 1 today) and players looked more comfortable.

I didnt expect a win today as Spurs have on paper some quality in every position. Oh well back to the drawing board or pick the right players

Only Barton, Traore and Caulker (IMHO) can hold their heads up during the after-match analysis. Ale and Ned did enough to be certainties of starting against Sunderland (even OBZ if Vargas and Charlie are not fit). Ale can take the corners and free kicks. Barton's only fault was his dead balls, but it is not his fault, he has been given a job he is not good enough for. As said, Ale should take the corners and free kicks.
I should be depressed, but I am not because Spuds away is NOT a game that we should get some of the 40 for the season.
Looking forward to Sunderland!!!
(Don't answer any WUMs from idiots who come on here because they haven't got a life worth the semantics of the noun!).
