Nutter, but could become absolutely brilliant.

On his day, he's up there, just needs to become more consistent.

Put it this way, £14m for Borini or £16m for Mario? £16m is a good price for someone that is proven in this league, Italian league and at International level.

think that's being a bit harsh on borini, although i get your point about value, but considering when we got him we had no chance of attracting players like balotelli, comparing fees is a bit harsh.

Well Borini cost us £11m, I'm talking more about how much were selling Borini for (possibly).

Would you have taken a swap deal of Borini & £2m for Ballotelli? Sounds like a bargain to me.

i thought you meant it the other way, put it that way then i agree, bargain.

shows the pull of cl football then if £2 mill is the dif between getting a borini or a balotelli, madness.

I don't understand the issue surrounding wages. It says £90,000 a week everywhere yet some people claiming that is after tax. First of all, since when do the media quote after tax wages? They want to grab the headlines using big figures (i.e. Di Maria to United for £100m), surely they'd use full figures?

Secondly, £90,000 a week after tax equates to £180,000 after tax.. No media outlets have quoted that as his wage, I highly doubt that this is true.

Oh and just a nice little reminder.

One of Mario Balotelli's greatest moments was an assist to Aguero which secured the BPL title in the dying minutes of the season.. snatching it off Manchester United :D

True!

And welcome back mate! Long time <ok>

Do you reckon he'll take number 7 shirt?

No he'll be 45, its his number. A youth player at Citeh had to give it up to him when he joined them.

My only concern with him is his work rate. The controversies mostly happen off the pitch, so they mainly affect his personal reputation rather than the clubs.
While Suarez was always a ticking timebomb on the pitch at least we knew he'd give his all every game and just keep going even if things weren't going his way. Balotelli doesn't really track back and does sulk when its not going great. Hope BR can get him to pull his finger out and understand its a team game.

Allegedly Mario was in Liverpool last week and looking for directions to some hospital.

Derry Mathews happened to be the person he asked for directions and tweeted the tale only to be barraged with calls of liar and fool and a lot worse. Today Derry tweeted something along the lines of to all those who called me a liar etc. Up yours, I told the truth about him being in the city asking for directions and now hes signing for lfc.

So if Derry is to be believed and why not believe him, the medical could be done already. If so it will only be a case of a signature and a few faxes. He could be in the squad for Monday night <yikes>

What do you mean? We're clearly basing our assumptions on youtube videos and hyping him up since he's signing for Liverpool. He's **** anyway, no other club would want him, he'll flop and bring the game into disrepute, and Lukaku is 100x better anyway. Clearly there is nothing to discuss.

danilo - really good post <ok>

Cheers <ok>

I personally think that a return to the 4-4-2 diamond would seriously help us out with a player like Balotelli. He hates doing it all on his own, hates being the final man to make the run, etc. With a Sturridge beside him or Sterling close by, he can let others do the dirty work. We could end up playing these two formations -

----------------Mignolet----------------
-Manquillo---Lovren----Sakho---Moreno-
-----------------Can-------------------
--------Henderson----Coutinho---------
----------------Sterling----------------
---------Balotelli-------Sturridge--------

although

----------------Mignolet----------------
-Manquillo---Lovren----Sakho---Moreno-
-----------------Can-------------------
---------Henderson---Lallana-----------
---Markovic-------------------Sterling--
-------------Sturridge/Balotelli----------

I think these line ups touch on the type of development we are seeing however they dismiss our experienced players like Gerrard and Skertl though Johnson most agree is no loss

It's all potential and talent and a level of excitement and hope about how it works out

Clearly bad on telly offers far more if he is willing to work in a fluid shape and give and take.... The rewards for some maturity can be huge

There are 4 things the lad must not do

1. Slap a woman around (no reports he has so far)

2. Punch a ref or other such assault on pitch

3. Get arrested

4. Make a racist gesture
If he avoids all that and just sulks a bit if can't be so disasterous we can't get shut again
