Of course it was. The talk was about his ego and how Rodger's could potentially be the manager to calm him down and deal with his temperament better than previous managers. He may not have said the word "better managing players ego's" but that is what the talk was about and it was meant in that way.

Amazing how you can gain that from this sentence;

And that Rodgers is a better manager than anyone he's previously played for

<doh>

In any case it's still absolute beans ffs, you're talking about a man who used the envelope trick he knicked off Ferguson, but forgot the element of context.

A better all round motivator and man manager than 2 men who've won a truck load of honours? Do me a favour <laugh>

Well so long as LFC supporters get the point then Tobes being confused can only be considered a nice bonus <ok>

Context Tobes.. if you read the posts before that comment we were talking about Balotelli, his ego and being able to manage him base don his bad reputation.

Obviously I mean "somebody of quality". And I disagree about being short. If "being short" is the reason we get 2nd instead of 1st or 5th instead of 4th, etc... then it wasn't the right call.

Sturridge injury could cost us a great deal of points if we don't get somebody. I'd rather get someone not quite as good now rather than wait to January- especially, if like Balotelli rumour, it is on a loan-to-buy agreement.

Buy someone better next summer if he turns out to be the arse we're expecting.

I was responding to the "getting someone" part. We shouldn't get someone for the sake of it and you've answered with "somebody of quality" which I agree with. All I meant was if that quality player isn't available then we shouldn't sign a lesser player to fill the gap. You say it could be the difference between first and second, I say if they are **** they could also cost us top four! what if the right player was available in January but we didn't have the funds after signing Captain Crappants?

He usually does read the posts prior and try to use them against you. Obviously doesn't fit his neutral argument here :)

I know the rumours are BS but unless you want to continuously rip Tobes to bits there is ****all else to talk about so...

I wouldn't mind Balotelli but only on loan so long as we have the option to return him should he be a **** :)

Personally with 50 mil in the pockets of lfc I would be dissappointed in any badontelly move as he has mental issues . Well sorry to our contributors on here who've enlightened us on many such issues but this lad does have some sort of issue somewhere.

Disappointed yes, but if the right player isn't available then I'm happy we're saving the money and getting a decent stop gap until we can get someone better.

Absolutely. We've just parted with one head-case.

Ballotelli or no one? We aren't going to sign anyone better, let's face it. Unless you rate Bony higher - But that lead's been dead a long time and Swansea won't budge from their valuation

With 50 mil in hand? Nobody is not an option! Not with that amount of cash

Badontelly is a nutjob.

Bony is just average enough (nothing wrong with that) but in all the debate on here nobody at all has explain how the lad fits in our systems one iota

As a striker, when Sturridge is injured. It's not exciting, but when sturridge is out with his annual injury we'll be thankful. We ain't getting a Falcao. And **** having Lambert or Borini as backup

A rumour a day... Striker du jour, Mitrovic

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...r-scouting-Anderlecht-ace-Aleksandar-Mitrovic

Liverpool eyeing SECOND Serbian star after scouting Anderlecht ace Aleksandar Mitrovic

Yes, but who is that 2nd Serbian star and why were eyeing him after scouting Mitrovic? Was he playing at the same club as Mitrovic... <whistle>

Serbian ace Mitrovic, 19, has impressed Kop scouts with a series of top displays for the Belgian outfit.

He has netted three goals in the opening four games to help Anderlecht take an early lead in the Belgian top flight.

The Reds have already splashed out heavily on one Serbian youngster this summer in the shape of Lazar Markovic.

Brendan Rodgers paid £20m to bring the player to Anfield from Benfica.

And according to the Evening Standard, Markovic could soon be joined on Merseyside by his countryman, with Liverpool scouts taking a very strong interest in his development.

Meanwhile, the Reds have denied they have launched a bid for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

Reports from Italy this morning indicated the club are on the verge of bidding £17.5m for the former Manchester City man, but the club have since clarified they are yet to lodge an offer.

Brendan Rodgers remains on the lookout for a striker following the departure of Luis Suarez earlier this summer.

The Kop hero netted 31 Premier League goals last season, and Rodgers is keen to draft someone in to fill the void left by the Uruguayan.

Suarez, Ronaldo, Messi, Rodriguez...

They all have long contracts ;)

Apparently there are 2/4 strikers at every club in Europe too.... Even names like cavani and falcao that are not 80mil fees

We are sure it's badontelly or no-one???? That's not reality to me there simply has to be 5/10 guys out there right now the difference between them and a bony etc is basically zero in terms of ability but may just fit better
