Not sure what the deal is with Hooper at the moment, don't know whether or not to believe he is genuinely injured, or whether he will still be a City player by the end of the window, but one thing I am sure of is that he must be licking his lips at the prospect of getting back in our team on the evidence of all the chances we've created in the past two games. Prior to this season he has actually only had one full one in the Championship when he scored a shedload of goals for Scunthorpe, so if he can get himself fit surely he will be deadly for us with the attacking mindset we are adopting this year. If we sign Jerome I do have concerns as to whether Hooper will be off as like others have mentioned, I think we'll struggle to keep four potentially 'first choice' strikers happy, particuarly if we play the 4-2-3-1 formation. I'm amazed Koo Pee Arr haven't been sniffing around, though perhaps they have and we just don't know about it.
Agree with all of this. Will be interesting when we know because if he stays I see him scoring an absolute ton. But off on a tangent - it always makes me smile that Sc**thorpe gets starred out by the swear filter. Reminds me of the old joke - can you name three English football teams with swear words in their names?
I think we would look even better if Hooper was playing up front, however with Grabban in the mood for scoring there can be few complaints about him continuing in the team. For me Jerome would be a Wilbraham type player, bring on for the last 10 minutes to bully and work tired defenders. Hooper of me would still be best to lead the line. If it wasn't the Derby at the weekend i would feel extremely confident for the weekend, they are arguable the weaker than the 3 teams we've already played, however as we all know form goes out the window and derbies can show up some strange results. Have too say I'm nervous at the moment.
If we can get more than what we paid for him the club will sell, like any of our players it would seem.
