@Hull_City_News: Reports in UAE that Al-Ain are bidding £6m for Sagbo. Very good offer but doubt we'd let another striker go. #hcafc Surely this can't be true.......can it!!!!
We should snap their hands off. Who needs strikers when you can sit on a pile of cash in the bank? We could stick Quinnesta up front. He ran the show when he came on on Saturday (apparently).
I would only accept it IF, and it's a huge IF.... We had a replacement set to sign straight away and another ready to come in shortly after. There should be no point where we have just one striker in the building, that'd be madness.
We're making a cracking profit on our strikers but we can't let another go, not without replacements at least. Sagbo looked good against Trencin and I'd think he'd be a quality player this season.
OLM mentioned this earlier as well so there could be something in it. Or the base of this tweet. Anyone know if this guy is reliable?
Sagbo isn't available for the next Prem game, so we wouldn't be short in anyway. So we effectively have a week and a half to sign his replacement. I do think he'll play on Wednesday though.
Yep I meant Thursday. The Hull City News guy is saying the release clause is only for Premier League clubs.
I would be pissed if he went but £6million is just too good. We don't usually make that much profit on players we can't really refuse. And we can definitely splash out then. To be honest we can afford to replace them. Jelavic is not brilliant but I never saw the point in having 4/5 strikers at a club. The most egotisical of positions and you expect 2 or 3 to be bench players, never a good combo. Also we have too many attacking midfielders. Ince, Aluko, Quinn, Snodgrass. We djust need to get one standout striker who will play every game and have Jelavic as back up or partner.
Another very good offer but again it's for a player we don't want to lose. Bruce seemed to want another striker even before we lost Long. So if we end up losing another one he might want 3 more. I'd want two as a minimum. I'm uncomfortable with us completely replacing our striking options at this stage. If we sign three chances are one will be ****. We'd be very lucky to get another double signing as successful as Longavic.
I think 2 strikers would be enough if Sagbo leaves, as Groot pointed out, it's a position that can generate unhappy players very quickly and the last thing we need is our squad harmony disrupting. That said, I think Sagbo has done great to sit on the fringes and against Trencin he looked like he sent a message to Brucey, maybe he will reject a move in favour of fighting for a place here.
Someone who posts rumours on twitter. He has a couple of thousand followers and I'm not too sure on his credibility.
OUT Long & Sagbo £18m IN Welbeck + loan striker £14m Profit £4m (ignoring wages) that's good business
