Ok... if that's your opinion who are you playing at right back if Clyne gets injured for a month then?

I think McCarthy will be close, but would like some one else.

McCarthy, but I still think we'll sign Byram. Kinda ****ty if we do as it cuts the nuts off either Clyne or (more likely) McCarthy.

Baring in mind Billy and Danny had not featured last season, or in Dani's case not very much. We have more or less got two extra players already. Albeit one of those was a goalkeeper. So I would agree that field depth is still our weakness I am surprised that Gallagher hasn't featured more in pre season, also what about Mayuka? If RK doesn't feel that either are going to break through this year then as others have said we will need another Striker. Is the young lad Stephens is it that plays centre half about to break through....? (the one that went to Swindon on loan). If not then yes another Centre half? Cover for Clyne......Cork can do that for us but....is he off? In which case another right back. I make that a minimum of three, however the local rumour is another two.
Anyone any ideas as to whom they will be?

I briefly saw a tweet about Big Sam G, it said something along the lines that he has been suffering from depression, following the death of his father, can't verify the story and is doesn't appear to have been followed up, if it is true, it is a pity we can't send him a big cuddly hug!

Have been wondering where he's been. Absolutely gutted to hear that if it's true. I know he won't read this but I want to send him by best all the same.

In terms of what we need; An attackin mid, a centre back - and also to pray/hope that the new signings gel together and are the success we hope they will be!

Yes, but Ronald is still fairly new to the E Gish language and doesn't really use idioms in that way. I think we can take his words literally.

As a Dutchman, I'm sure he's very fluent, and also famillier with idioms, both English and American. I think we can accept it as a figure of speach.

On the RB back up, didn't we have a teenage RB that ended up pushing our RB for his place last season and eventually leaving for 16m? I'd take a shot with McCarthy. If it really doesn't work, limp with Corkie there.

I know Cork has played right back for us before but he's also played centre back when he was on loan. I don't fancy him in either position.

Full back's are very important positions these days you can't just chuck someone in there and expect them to be effective.

I realise you did say "limp" so you probably agree with what I am saying.

We won't tho.

I do. The key point overlooked is that I suggest he is the back up to the back up.

I still think we need a top class CB, with Fonte and the yet unproven newbie I am nervous going into a long season with Yoshi as our front line back up and Jos only two injuries/suspensions away from front line action.
I fear RK comments about not looking for another CB may come back to bite him in the backside
