You're aiming your frustration at the wrong person. It's not Adams' fault he was hired, and it's almost certainly not all down to Adams that Pilks is being sold. He's had one game as permanent manager, you cannot seriously want him gone already?

Totally agree, Adams is a top bloke but the jury is out as to whether is the right man to manage NCFC <ok>

Of course it is, you can't make any judgement off the back of one game. <ok>

Again, I'm against this, but it's squad harmony that twice got us promoted, it's squad disharmony that got us relegated, and if Pilks is causing trouble then perhaps it's not too bad (or at least it wouldn't be if he wasn't being sold to bloody Cardiff). If Adams wants him gone then he's stamping his authority, but he has to get another winger now.

PRECISELY!!!! <ok>

I know there is a difference of opinion when it comes to Redmond, but IMO he has a tremendous raw talent as a winger and with the right coaching he could be a world beater. I've seen him rip defences apart at England U21 level where he's given a free role to express himself, a bit like Hucks used to have when he played for us.

I have no idea whether what you say is correct or not Supers, but I must admit looking at it from the outside the whole thing stinks. You know what, I lay the blame solely at McNally's door and he has gone way down in my estimations. Was the sacking of Gunn and the appointment of Paul Lambert a stroke of genius or a stroke of bloody good luck? All I do know is that everything that came after has been a complete balls up. Fair enough, when Hughton was appointed most of us thought that he had pulled another rabbit out of the hat, but when it was obvious last year that things weren't working he and the board fannyed about before wielding the axe. What a time to do it as well with just 5 games left, four of which we were never going to win anyway. We were told that 'no-one' was available in January when they thought of making a change so they stuck with CH. What a total load of bollocks, EVERYONE is available, always, if you are prepared to pay for their services. Then of course we were told that the club 'scoured Europe' for Hughton's successor before eventually appointing Adams who was already caretaker. Who are they trying to kid ? Do they think I'm some kinda 'double yolker' ? Now we have these 'alledged' 'white lies' re Pilkington coming out of Colney FFS, our club is turning into a laughing stock.

Edit:- We already are a laughing stock !

Rant over <grr>

(nearly anyway, I may return with more vitriol !<laugh>)

lets not get too over dramatic. yes the board have made mistakes during the mcnally era but i'd say its been 70/30 in their favour so far at worst. lambert was an inspired choice and lets face it, he wasn't an easy choice. back to back promotions under his tenure. even hughton, although a divisive character, still kept us up despite a turbulent first summer in charge and pocketed the club £100m+. they cleared the debts, purchased record signings on at least three occasions... yes they clung on to hughton too long and yes adams is an odd choice in odd circumstances but its wrong to say its been a mess. they've taken the club forwards during the last 5 years, even if we have taken one step backwards this summer <ok>

Pilkington fee rumoured to be just £1M ! I find that incredible if true and the board have questions to answer !

Let's just say that Adams has a lot to prove in the next couple of weeks both in terms of transfer business and proving he can both motivate a team and set is up in a tactically competent way.

.....and still we do things on the cheap ! Answer me this Supers, do you really, honestly, believe all this bullshit coming out of Carrow Road ? Especially the 'scouring of Europe' for a new manager ?

of course i don't <laugh>

i reckon they had a quick look but 'scoured' is just 'artistic license'.

i do not believe we are 'doing things on the cheap' though. if we were, we wouldn't have shelled out £7m on two players. i don't believe adams and his coaching setup are cheap. what they are is inexperienced and imo, massively out of their depth. but that's different to 'being cheap'. the board had a setup in mind to move the club forwards and one of the candidates said 'it wasn't for him' and the other didn't impress as much as adams.

that's fair enough - it could have worked and in a way its nice to see a club take a risk on a young english manager rather than a foreigner or a 'roundabout' manager.

but its a risk which was unnecessary and appears is already backfiring. worrying times...

well naturally neil adams will be cheaper than say a malky mackay - that's because of experience - but that's a different point. the question was 'are the club doing things on the cheap'? well in terms of the appointment of adams perhaps its a 'yes' but in terms of everything else its a 'no'.

ipswich are 'doing things on the cheap'. ironically, its probably helping them.

Especially him falling out with Pilks. I'm really struggling to understand why he's being sold and more worryingly to a rival team!!!! <doh>

I'd say the whole management team is cheap.

We have only spent money generated from sales which is fair enough. I expect Fer will go which along with Pilkington could well be the majority of the top earners gone.

Call me a cynic but I would not be surprised if a few more go through on last day of transfer window so they have excuses for not getting replacements.

I actually think that it's reasonable if very good offers come in late on for one or two players to go without immediate replacement (no more than that...) PROVIDED that the money is being held to reinforce in January if we look in a strong position to bounce back up.

Having plenty of money in January is key to getting promoted IMO.

Plenty of money to buy players as good as Hooper Fer Olsson or Redmond? Everyone costs more in January and you get held to ransom if you are looking to go up or fighting to stay up. Unless we get twice what we paid for our star assets then we will only reduce our chances of being in a position to go up in January.
