I think it would be a great move for him, and would be good for us if he went out and got some first team experience

The perfect level I reckon and under a man he will be familiar with so it won't be too daunting an experience for him.

Sounds like a good opportunity for the lad to help with his development. A season playing regular 1st team football for him and the likes of Richardson etc should do them a lot of good.

If he knocks Ayr United out of a cup then there will be hell to pay!

Would be a good move for him, hopefully quite a few of the young lads get loaned out so some decent clubs.

    Yep.

Used to go and watch matches with my uncle when we came over from the States.

  15. He's a decent prospect but staying here wont do him any good. He should be sent out on loan and the SPL could be a good level to start. League 1/Championship level <ok>

I'd prefer him joining a Championship or (at least) a League 1 team. Whilst some of the teams are Championship level, a number of the SPL sides are of League 2 quality I reckon, or even lower. So considering the way the games are rotated (playing 4-5+ games against the same teams every season), I don't think it would give Airey the challenge he needs to grow. If we ever have any intention of stepping him up to Premier League performances, he has to ply his trade first at a reasonably high level which is going to push him out of his comfort zone. I reckon that playing against consistent CCC or L1 quality teams every week should be good enough.

Agree, while this move would be beneficial, I'm sure a League One team would take him, or some Championship strugglers. He was top scorer in the reserve league, Borini (from Chelsea) was top scorer a couple of seasons ago and got a loan to Swansea.

Surprised he left Chelsea. Must have been homesick.
