The Southampton board don't believe it's 12m. They believe it's much less and apparently one of them is in the know.
It's bad news. I can't understand it. What's a five million profit these days. If we stay up it's peanuts.
That makes it a whole lot worse if it's true. Much less would imply that it's below £10M, which begs the question: what is the f**ing point? We've essentially got rid of our best striker for a ****ty profit right before the opening day of the Premier League season. Whoever made this call has ****ed up big time in my opinion.
f** sake get a decent team sorted and we lose one of the main players, f**s the point? f** saturday and f** the premier league bunch of ****s, **** off long, hope you don't score all season and end up at macclesfield
Which is why I would think that it is not infact far below 12 mill. What would be the point in selling him for anything below 10 mill.
This whole thing doesn't rest easy with me... Will sleep it off and expect it to come out as bollocks tomorrow then
So in your eyes, a decent finisher puts away every single opportunity in front of him? If he could do that, it would in fact make him the greatest striker in the world. He got 4 goals and was our joint top scorer with Jelavic, his goals were really well taken and, now that Fryatt has gone, is probably the best finisher at the club. He'd have scored against Trencin last week had the keeper not made two really good saves; keepers do make saves, you realise that don't you? It's what they're there to do. What about the chances he's missed....bloody hell, was that a serious question?
I think it's just somebody on their board saying it in the hope that it turns out to be true. If everybody else is saying 12m, that's what it'll be.
So he hasn't even waited until it was made official? Thanks for the four goals, don't let the door hit you on the way out you utter c**t.
His goals kept us up, he did what he was brought in to do. If we get a fair profit then so be it. I'd rather see him stay, but this has to be one of the oddest transfer moves we've been involved in, and I thought the David Livermore one was odd.
total ****, kinda hope he tears his ACL or some ****, not life threatening, just so he does **** all for southampton, hardly going to starve is he
Such a shame if he goes. I really like him as a player. If the fee has been agreed etc, lets hope he fails the medical and stays or has a U-turn decision.
You don't spend £7.5M on a striker for a six-month stint and four goals. He was here to stay, or at least that's what we thought.
His hold up play is great, he's quick, mobile and a real team player. His finishing however is a weak point considering his other strenghts if he was a 'very very good finisher' he would be at a better club than us or Southampton. A very very good striker would have scored at least one of those chances last week We'll miss him but his finishing isn't great and his goals will be replaced it's the other aspects we'll miss im more worried about.
