Sorenson looks on, but we're not after Delort http://labottegadelcalciofilo.com/2014/08/04/news-on-sorensen-and-delort/ Today a lot of names have been linked to Leeds in transfers window. The two main are Andy Delort, French striker from Tours, and Frederik Sorensen, Danish defender from Juventus. I had a talk with Nicola Salerno, director of the club and asked him about them. Is answer has been very enigmatic, but clear: “Not everything you read or listen about transfers is true – he said – For the time being we are taking a defender” So, deal for Sorensen is completed? “Tomorrow we will see. Last round”. In the enigmatic language of the director it can mean that Sorensen is almost a Leeds player and the deal will be completed. Delort seems to be not a target of Leeds.
Mark Hudson - Cardiff City captain Leeds United are keen to sign Cardiff City club captain Mark Hudson, but they won’t get their man just yet. The Bluebirds are working to add two central defenders to their squad , but have only five days before their opening Championship match at Blackburn Rovers. Those targets are their priority, and it is going to be a busy week at Cardiff with Gary Medel heading to Inter Milan for £10m and Jordon Mutch probably on his way to Queens Park Rangers for £6m, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would love to add two defenders and a midfield player to his squad. Leeds have enquired about Hudson, but he could yet be needed by Solskjaer for Friday’s match at Blackburn if other deals cannot be completed in time. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leeds-united-target-cardiff-citys-7556032
I think I'm happy about this .... Simon Austin ‏@sport_simon 1h @sammolufc1919 Cellino has been offered Sharp, Becchio and Hudson (among others) but isn't interested in any of them #lufc Simon Austin ‏@sport_simon 56m Also said #mcfc among others have offered loanees but he only wants loans if they're with a view to permanent deals #lufc
Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP 2h Reports this morning that Leeds are signing Nicky Ajose from Peterborough. Also been looking at Guincamp's Mustapha Yatabare. #lufc
Adryan rumours surfacing again on twitter. Also, Conor Coady. Young Liverpool defensive midfielder/centre back. On loan at Sheff Utd last season.
Salerno singing the praises of Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla today. Apparently Cagliari want to sell him. We want a striker. I'll leave you to make up the rest.........
Phil Hay confirmed Cellino has said "Conor Coady was a player Leeds had looked at but there's no agreement with Liverpool yet" YET !
Chris Dawkes ‏@chrisdawkesITV 12m Just asked #sufc manager Nigel Clough if there was anything in the Connor Coady to #lufc rumours. He said yes
Cellino has confirmed Frederik Sorenson is a Leeds player and has been training at Thorp Arch today. Guessing we are just waiting for the OS to confirm it then, no idea why we confirm transfer around a day or so before its actually been 100% done. What the hell does it have to do with that t**t?
Wasn't he on loan with them last season? Clough hoping for another year? TBH, I don't know. Don't shoot the messenger. It's only a rumour board, not the High Court witness stand.
He was on loan with them very average player and too lightweight for this division. and lets be honest CM is not a position we should be looking at
Leonard Pavoletti anyone? http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/08/08/tt-leeds-united-receive-lifeline-in-bid-to-sign-31-goal-striker/ Leeds United have received a lifeline in their bid to sign Italian striker Leonardo Pavoletti after Serie A outfit Genoa couldn’t reach an agreement with parent club Sassuolo. The Whites have been keen to bolster their striker ranks following the big-money exit of star player Ross McCormack to Championship rivals Fulham earlier this summer. Former Peterborough United striker Nicky Ajose and French-born forward Souleymane Doukara have joined the Elland Road club over the summer, but McCormack’s 29 goals last season is a tough ask to replace. Owner Massimo Cellino therefore has been scouring his native Italy in order to find that key man upfront and sounded out Leonardo Pavoletti as the man for the job, their interest reported by Football Italia last month. The 25-year-old has spent the past two years plying his trade in Serie B, where he netted 11 goals during Sassuolo’s promotion campaign before returning last season on loan with Varese, scoring 20 goals in 33 appearances. His excellent form has attracted strong interest from Genoa, but according to Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A outfit failed to reach an agreement with Sassuolo during their latest meeting. “Genoa and Sassuolo did not reach an agreement for the transfer of Pavoletti. They met at dinner but could not find an understanding.” The report claims. Genoa’s latest setback could be the lifeline needed for the Yorkshire club to up the ante and really outline their promotion ambitions this season with a firm offer. The 6ft 1inch striker is reportedly rated at €2.2million by renowned website transfermarkt.com – a small price to pay for a top goalscorer and the potential returns of the Premier League riches. If Leeds are to make their move, however, they will have to do it quickly as the Italian report goes on to suggest that that Pavoletti’s proposed move to Genoa is still a possibility.
Genoa signed Mauricio Pinilla yesterday (Chilean striker, see my earlier post suggesting we might go for him - oops !) so perhaps they're no longer in the market for this other fella.
Don't know. I saw an article a few days ago where Salerno was going on about what a great player he was and he couldn't believe Cagliari wanted to sell. I put two and two together and got seventeen.
Emanuele Giulianelli ‏@EmaGiulianelli 10m Leeds wants Novaretti from Lazio as central back. Cellino wants him on loan, Lazio wants to sell him definitively. #lufc
Joined lazio on a free last season, only played 11 games, mexican team leon also interested. Argentinian age 29.
Nope, but I did read that his agent spoke to Cellino & said that he would be interested should any Premiership club came a knockin'. Saves his 5% cut with that approach.
