Rain stopped play just as England were beginning to apply pressure to the Indian bowling....still a handy lead being built.....now 85 with 4 wickets left and with Root and Buttler manipulatiing the ball into the open spaces to tick the scoreboard over........Agree with others that a lead of 150/200 will be very difficult for India....
BTW Oz thanks for reminding us.......still the stuff of nightmares......and we have to do it all again next summer!!!!
Considering the weather report for tomorrow and the problem area on the outfield, I was wondering what people think about a declaration total and if we should have them batting again today.
Root just gone 304-7, if we get 350+ India will be hard-pressed to survive 4 days let alone 5. Even if it rains we should have enough to win unless it's of biblical proportions...
Also worth remembering that if it does rain it will effect the wicket. Could see Jimmy have that ball on a string again.
They're saying there's unlikely to be any play tomorrow due to rain. We've probably got enough already.
Uber obviously doesn't read the cricket threads, or else he would surely have picked me up on that howler. Another great win for England. On recent form Ali will be picked more for his bowling than his batting. Saves sweating on the weather.
