Sorry, let me rephrase. They're only entitled to 25% of any fee, so they see it 'owning' 25% of the value. So they want the 25% to be worth around €4m-€5m.
So you would think that the €17 million fee that has been supposedly bid from Southampton would be good enough then. Obviously if they did accept it the player will have to want to join as well, unless we've talked to Rojo's representatives first to gauge his interest.
I'm pretty certain that would be the case. So many transfers are that way around these days, and they aren't sending Les out to pursue the deal if there is not at least some indication of interest (or that his wage demands would be within budget) beforehand.
Sporting president Bruno De Carvalho has said in a press conference that the bids received for Marcos Rojo and Slimani are "below their values" http://www.ojogo.pt/Futebol/1a_liga/Sporting/interior.aspx?content_id=4068336
Another article says we have now bid €17m. So either they are lying or TribalFootball etc are a bit behind.
Just seen a couple of journalists say they pressed the Sporting president about Rojo. He confirmed that they had had more than one offer from a club, but refused to name the club.
I wonder if there is only one real journalist in the whole world (sitting in a cave in the Himalayas)...everyone else just copies him, occasionally adding some decorations and/or lies.
Same as Blog Saints or whatever it's called on Twitter. Really grim updates of old news. BREAKING NEWS - regarding the signing of Bertrand the following morning after it happened. They just repost paper talk too, I unfollowed them. I'm bad ass like that.
My brother in law was at ours a couple of weeks back and he asked how Saints were doing. I told him that we had sold loads of players and looking to buy replacements. He of course asked which players were linked to us and I mentioned Rojo. His instant reply was that it would take £18m (yes he said in pounds) so I guess that is 21-22m euros.
