That is a lot of bulk to get upright into full flow ASAP in the 100m. So IMHO 9 seconds would be very difficult for him. The 200m is not similarly hindered, so I would not be surprised to see him go below 19s.
His height is a disadvantage at the start, undoubtedly RDBD; the smaller athletes with better balance tend to be comfortably ahead of him in the first 20-30 metres. But his technique is still woeful. He wastes a lot of energy at the start with his arms and legs flailing. it takes him to 60-70 metres to catch up and then he pulls away as if the rest are standing still in the last third when he is in full stride. If someone could get him to perfect his first 20-30 metres and stop dancing the last 10 metres, he could easily shave 0.5-0.75 of a second off his time. The rest gain a tenth of a second here and there by perfecting their technique. Bolt loses half a second by not giving a damn about his. He is so good, he doesn't need to worry about the marginal gains (or losses). I'd just like to see him run the perfect race, flat out. Under nine seconds for 100m would be achievable.

The former Argentina defender now has Jesus Perez as assistant manager at Spurs, with first team coach Miguel D'Agostino and goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez also moving to the capital from the south coast. Freund will be responsible for developing Tottenham stars on foreign loan deals, supporting the club's international projects, academy partnerships and scouting potential new recruits. Freund made 102 Spurs appearances between 1998 and 2003, and joined the club's coaching staff in July 2012 under then-boss Andre Villas-Boas.
I think Freund is far more suited to this new role than as first team coach. He should be fine about it, as the main thing for him is to be working at the club he loves. Incidentally, there has been two Freunds around the club recently as his son, a goalkeeper, has been trialling with us.

A German court has agreed to end the bribery trial of Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone in exchange for a £60m payment from him. Bribery is bad, but if you pay us a ****load of money, then we'll make the charges go away? Really consistent.
It's bizarre. He's not even classed as being guilty. He's claiming is just a business deal; an economical decision. The courts would have cost him more in teh long run. If money was no object to me, as it is to Ecclestone, I'd want to clear my name.

In Ecclestone's case that may prove beyond the reach of even his wealth!. Plus, of course, who knows what other **** may be dug up in a protracted legal battle.
