is it just me or does that top look like a fake? or is it the picture making it look god awful looks like its been made by a blind 3 fingered women in a basement
Should be a superb signing for you. He seemed to have had a raw deal at City, but regular games is what he needs, and that was never going to happen at City. sometimes it makes you wonder if the big money clubs buy players purely to stop other clubs getting them
i do think that tbh, sometimes players are just too good to allow another team to get them also think that most teams love quality in depth and unfortantley leaves some players in ruins, also think his injury problems come from not enough game time aswell
So let me get this straight. We've bought a proper real live and kicking left-back AND a proper live and kicking midfielder? BLOODY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its almost as if Gus knows what he's doing!! And well done CongerMan. Great signing, now for the others!!
Rodwell is a perpetual sick note, who's never fulfilled his early potential. When he first broke onto the scene at Goodison he looked to have tremendous promise, but a succession of niggles and seemingly chocolate hamstrings, restricted his appearances and meant he never cemented a starting berth in the side. He was notably described as being more Kirkdale than Kirkby, which was a reflection on his grit (or lack of it) on the pitch. For me, he's a tremedous athlete, but lacks the football intelligence needed to be a genuine top notch CM player, as he gets caught out of position and doesn't read the game that well imo. We were largely chuffed when City handed over big bucks for him, and not surprised in the least, that it's not worked out for him. I hope this move sees him staying fit and genuiely progressing as a PL CM, but I won't be having any money on it and I think you've massively overpaid lads, sorry.
Heard it was £10M? £6M is probably a fair price. If the lad can stay fit, you've got half a chance of seeing a good player develop under Poyet, it's just a big IF.
Good manager Poyet I agree, similar in philosophies to Martinez I'd imagine, which is why I'm pleased future United player Barkley is under the guidance of Martinez, he'll turn up well drilled.
If the lad plays & does well then it will be 10m but at this moment in time it's 6m pal. good signing in Lukaku by the way.
I hope it works out for him up there mate, he looks a better player when he's allowed to play a little further forward btw. The holding role isn't his strong suit imo, as he loses runners too easily. Made up with Lukaku, never thought I'd see the day we spent that sort of dosh. Are you still chasing the RS for Borini? £14m sounded like ****ing robbery to me like.
