Leeds United have agreed a deal for Nicky Ajose, who could still be joined at Elland Road by Nile Ranger, Sky Sports understands.
Ajose is arriving for an undisclosed fee from Peterborough United.
The former Manchester United winger has barely featured for the Posh since joining in 2011.
Ajose has spent most of his time out on loan at Sc**thorpe, Chesterfield, Crawley, Bury and last season at Swindon.
He impressed hugely at the County Ground with five goals in 12 games.
But now Leeds have made their move and have agreed a fee for Ajose, who is due to undergo a medical.
It is also understood that Ranger, who was also at Swindon Iast season, is in talks over a short-term deal.

The Nile Ranger link won't go away...

I'm not sure if your jibes are getting more juvenile or whether you're just getting more nervous about Nilwall's prospects. Perhaps some day you'll be a bit more confident about Nilwall's prospects & you won't have to lash out as much. Probably when you find your level in non-league ....

Are you confident this season Jocko?

Ajose. Looks like a bit of a cheap long shot to me. Unused and unwanted at posh. Fingers crossed.

Alright lads, back from 3 years in Austria, back in the KOP this year and looking for a place to discuss all things LUFC. This site seems pretty active.

Yes I thought the same, we seem to have done pretty well in the signings so far, he is on the last year of his contract, I would imagine he is very cheap and at 22 a gamble that might pay off?

I know we haven't spent much yet and it is good that we haven't had to, yes we have a couple of loans with options to buy which might be very costly however I would like to see us spend a little on someone a bit more proven when it comes to a striker.

It also depends on if we are shipping out Hunt or Morison, if one of those two are set to leave then Ajose would be fine, would hate him to be a gamble that fails and we end up with three strikers sitting in the reserves.

I've heard Batty being called many things, but playmaker was never one of them!

However you'd describe him we need his type of player, someone to sit in front of the defence breaking up play and giving it to one of our attacking midfielders.

Batty was indirectly a playmaker

winger arriving from a L1 side he could barely get into. Has shades of wassisface from Southend. Let's hope this one works out.

Went to the friendly on sat, liked the look of the new striker we have. Fast and powerful, with good passing adility. He'll bang goals in for us this season.

This new defender we've got looks the business too.

Difference is bogglers, he won't have some stupid clause guaranteeing him a three year contract regardless of how ****e he was. Ive no problem giving him or ranger a short term contract on small money and see what they're made of. Thats where our previous clowns of owners fell down

Went to the friendly on sat, was surprised by a few of the new players we've got. Looked very decent.

This new Juve defender is a massive signing for us.

Supposedly Celino wants 4 players in by Saturday. Looks like Sorenson and Ajose will be 2 and 3. Ranger and this french dude that Jock mentioned on the rumour thread will be number 4 and possibly number 5

Ajose won't be on a short term deal, that's for sure ... agree Ranger will at most get three months to see if he settles and gets fit, don't understand why he didn't feature in the friendlies or Blazing Squad games ... Batty was some player, destructive in breaking up play, fantastic first touch and excellent passer, if he played for Scum or Victimpool he would have been lauded as one of the great midfielders, but the rubbish media refused to give him the recognition he deserved ... anyone know what Batty is doing nowdays?
