What's wrong? Are you distressed that somebody has their own opinion and it doesn't overlap with your own?

Nope just would never want Beattie to be my fave player. I can't see how a person as nasty as Beattie can be respected. He is a thug and despite playing well for us I can't ever picture him in a good light. For a guy to(maybe) beat up a lady time after time and also mentally abuse her I feel he is a ****.

Does that answer your question?

Favourite player? Tiss was the most talented player in all the time that I have supported Saints and there have been many others I have admired for different skills, but SRL is the only one I have felt an emotional connection with. I love his story, talent and personality. And who could forget his goal against Scotland. :emoticon-0115-inlov

My kids bought me a Lambert no.9 England shirt for my birthday last year (the German one). Now its wrong on every level.

Nobody asked for him to be your favourite player, did they? ****ing legend, that's what he is. He gave his all for Southampton so whatever OK magazine exclusive you've read regarding his personal life is indifferent to me.

That lady is my family..... So think again.

Think again before what? I'm not going to change the high opinion I have of a player because somebody I don't know on a forum is advising me that he's a ****. Sorry and all lol.

I didn't ask you to did I? You asked me why I said ergh thinking I was "distressed"(how you put it). I responsed with a valued reason to why I would disagree with you. You then said I probably read it in a magazine, so I corrected you again. I do not see anything wrong with that.

Guys let it end there please, you are both entitled to your own opinions but you are not entitled to fill this forum up with your differences.

Thanks.

I had the pleasure of meeting James Beattie in Southampton airport, the day after we were promoted to the Championship. He was an absolute gent, he asked my brother and I lots of questions about ourselves and sat and had a beer with us and let us take a few photos before he had to split.

A lot of people can seem like a gent when meeting them briefly and having a bit of a chat. You could probably bump into Nigel Farage and find him to be quite amiable for ten minutes over a pint.

Three loans is a slight concern for a couple of reasons. 1) We don't usually go in for loans. 2) We have stacks of cash to bring in players on permanent deals. 3) Their quality is pretty questionable.

1. That's not really any reason to be concerned, clubs like Everton use the loan market well.
2. Agreed.
3. In which case I'd rather have them on loan than buy them. :)

Point 2 is the one I'd focus on. Points 1 and 3 are true, but not really indicative of whether or not loans are a good idea.

If we don't spend a big chunk of this cash, I'll worry about it ever being spent. We don't need to spend all of it this summer, but taking three players on loan definitely seems like a cause for concern. On the other hand you can explain two of them as the only deal we could get for Osvaldo. Can't really explain the Bertrand one though. That's a red flag for me.

I think it's easily explained by Ron not knowing whether (a) Targett is ready, and (b) we're going to get Rojo or another permanent signing who can play LB. Bertrand might not be brilliant but he's better than nothing if Targett isn't up to the job.

I think we have to be expecting Targett to start initially, considering he's had a proper pre-season.
