I remember the last time Pompey got promotion! 2002/03 I think!! Pompey finished the previous season in the lower reaches of what is now the Championship!!! Who would have predicted such a roaring success the following success. Hoepfully deja vu this time round. Have a feeling it will be a tight division with the cream rising to the top after Christmas. Expect a good season from Luton as well. Pompey and Luton for the top two places. PS: I have relatives there so cannot diss them. Also Tranmere are a club that tend to yo-yo between Division 2 and 1 so I fully expect a strong challenge from them.
It's great to see Luton back. We always had good games against them.

It's a pre-season friendly. The result doesn't matter. It's only a learning experiance for the squad and the manager, nothing more.

As for your lot, the wealth of the Premier League seems to have become so top-heavy in the past few years that the relegation battle now involves practically the whole of the bottom half of the table, which, despite the talent leaving St Marys this summer, gives you a better chance of hanging around in the top flight.
Whether or not you consider that a good thing is debatable. For myself, I'd love to see Pompey back in the Championship and finishing in a respectable 9th/10th place, but the Premier League can go F@#¬ its self; plastic fair weather fans 'supporting' clubs with chairmen bent on pure unadulterated greed; pigs' heads in the trough etc etc.
