    Good Morning Everyone,

Leeds youngsters eased to a 5-0 victory last night against Irish side Glenavon. A hattrick from Dawson with further goals from Smith and Stokes capped off a fine display from the youngster. It sounds like Carbone is making a real difference.

Leeds are not interested in Reo-Coker. We are being told we have not made an approach for him.

One player Leeds had made an approach for is Liam Cooper. The Chesterfield defender was subject to two offers, the higher being just under £500,000. Unfortunately, Chesterfield value him closer to 1m, so we are told that we have switched our attention to someone else.

The latest transfer update is that we and Boro are fighting it out to sign Danny Graham. Thoughts?

It is more than likely Tom Lees will sign a three year contract with Sheffield Wednesday. What isn't known is how much it will cost our South Yorkshire foes, if anything?

44 years ago today Brian Clough become Leeds Utd Manager, and even though his tenure only lasted 44 days, his time at Elland Road will not be forgotten.

Morning Elland. With all these Italian imports, will Dawson & others get a look in? Pity McDaid couldn't play (playing for the under 19s National team apparently) Pity about Lees leaving. Reduces our squad, but I actually think he was better than many gave him credit for. But heyho, I don't think he'll be the last decent player to leave. Poleon must be starting to feel a bit concerned. Forward line is coming on & McDaid will be pushing for a place at least on the bench before too long.

Glad we're not going for Reo-coker. Not that great at the best of times.

Morning all. Sounds like promising stuff from our youngsters in Glenavon game. Who knows, if Cellino can build half decent foreign squad this season and find three or four gems from the youths over coming season, we might be fine. Of course, much will depend on finding a coach/manager to make it all work if our current one proves to be not up to the job. What size of crowd can we expect for Dundee game I wonder?

Not sure how many decent coaches will trust Cellino to be fair, would you up root move to another country, buy a house, move your family, possibly put your kids into a new English school, Just to get sacked 3 months later and have to move back again <yikes> and i cant see too many English managers wanting the job either. Unless you can find another Hockaday somewhere <ok>

True mighty but remember there are hundreds of unemployed ones and the list will continue to grow as season kicks off. There are plenty out there who would still love to be the coach that guides Leeds to promotion

Mighty makes a fair point (don't get to see that said too often on here!). Cellino's approach to coaches is a self fulfilling prophecy, after a while your rep is such that you can only get the dregs to come, they fail because they're dregs, you have to sack them quicker than the last one... Etc.

Leeds saving grace is that our trashed brand still has some cachet and there will be guys who will come to make a name for themselves, unlike the wall who never had a brand to trash in the first place.

I remember showing an ex Saints Manager around a property. I queried why he was only looking up to £500k. He replied, incase things go horribly wrong....

Coaches etc surely expect to move around every few years.

I would be curious to know what is the average life expectancy of a championship manager. Id bet not longer than a season. Also curious, given the short life expectancy of the job, why would they bother buying a property. Surely renting is the way to go

Morning all .. nice to see the young 'uns featuring, let's see how they progress this season .. absolutely fcuked of that Lees is going on a free, bad business .. Danny Graham will go back to Boro and snub us yet again .. Cooper deal may yet get done, but we musn't pay over £500k for an unproven player at Champs level .. has Hock left yet?

good point elland but i bet he was paid well and had a good contract maybe 2 or 3 years so if it does go tits up he is
financially secure <ok> cant see Cellino offering either of them securities can you ?
and if Cellino sacks Hockaday before he is given a fair chance i think the message sent will be loud and clear that he intends to continue in the same vein as he is accustomed <yikes>

Cellino expects players and coaches to perform at the top of their ability,to be winners if you like. Not a bad trait to have and there will always be many coaches who think they are winners and have confidence in there own ability to give it a go.And if they don't have that confidence we don't want them.

Thing I don't get is what difference does it make what we got anyway. We likely won't know what Cellino is paying either for players as it's all up to him now

The Mirror (I know, I know) are saying Cellino is flying in on Friday for talks with Nile Ranger.

Thought we'd put this one to bed or are they even more out of touch than previously thought ?

    Morning all

Good for the kids to clock up a win last night, it will do them no end of good.

I made my feelings clear over our transfers last night. We desperately need to bring in players before the 1st game or we're screwed. We only got a month to bring a shed load of players. I really don't think we can do it.

As for the manager talk. No matter which club you're at, you're lucky if you've had 2 seasons, Brilliant if you've done 4 at a club and if you've been at a club as long as Wenger then you're a miracle maker.

Talking about being out of touch, I've just seen this mentioned in yesterday's thread. Think I'll go and get a job at the Mirror <laugh>
