Looking dodgy for big Sam, but which manager would you choose?

The ones in the so called safe area include Pellegrini, Wenger, Brenda,Martinez. LVG and Jose

But if you were given a £100. to chose the first one to be sacked, who would you chose?

Paul Lambert would probably be my choice, but if it was a high profile name, I would go for Mourinho A gut feeling tells me he and Abramovic are heading for a clash of egos, with Jose being the loser

Seriously though, unless results get completely ****ed or they fall out over something non result related, I think he's okay.
Not that that is outside the realm of possibility as it has happened once before. But I would like to think both have them learnt from that little fiasco and would set their bullshit aside, at least for the duration of the season. You never know though.

Wenger is safe as houses, he could have Arsenal in the relegation zone, and take a **** in the middle of the board room table during a meeting of directors and he would be fine. Lets face it, if you can go 9 years without winning anything and keep your job, then you're safe!

Pellegrini has some currency for winning the league, so unless City find themselves out the top 6 by Christmas, which is unlikely, I dont see him going anywhere.

Ditto with Brendan, except even if he was outside the top 6 I dont see him being sacked, he has LFC's full backing for at least the next season regardless of results imo.

Martinez should be fine. Expectations are a little lower at Everton than they are for the rest of the top 6 so I would think he will be fine, unless Everton find themselves in the relegation zone in the new year, which I highly doubt.

LVG, not a clue!! I thought United would give Moyes the whole season last time around, regardless of results and I was wrong (though he nearly made it). But to be honest I cannot see him doing worse than Moyes, so barring that, I think he too will be okay.

Chief, your probably right about Big Sam, West Ham still go back to the 60's and 70's when the "academy" idea was successful. The fans still cant get used to the idea that football has changed

I just think they've got a massively over inflated sense of their own importance. It's like they invented football half the time and, like the bloody Geordies as well, they think they're something special.

They aren't.

They should be careful what they wish for as, just like the Geordies, if they demand the sacking of Allardyce they can expect a dose of relegation to follow.

I think the Moyes sacking gives you the biggest clue of which of the big managers will get the chop first. As UIR predicted, he was fired as soon as it became mathematically impossible to reach the top four, so we could start our search for a new manager early. I think whichever of Mourinho, Pellegrini, LVG, Wenger and Rodgers misses out on the top four will be in the firing line, though Rodgers will probably survive as Liverpool have been so far behind for so long unless he has a season as inept as Dalglish's last one.

Imo the first manager to be sacked will be whichever of the established clubs finds themselves in the relegation zone come Xmas. Happens pretty much every year - manager gets sacked, new manager comes in before the Jan window to try and spend their way to safety. Would be interesting to see how often that strategy works for the respective club.

Well as I have said many times, I cant see beyond a top 4 of Chelsea, City, Arsenal and United (hopefully in that order )
So I think Brendan will miss out on the CL.
But Everton surprised people last season, plus they have Besic and probably Lukaku full time now, who will be a year older and if he stays fit who knows.
Plus it remains to be seen what Pottechoweveryouspellit at Spurs will do and whether he can get last summers signings to get off their asses and play.

Aye, you could be right - change Xmas to end of November as they often seem to want to give the new bloke a chance to look at his team before making new signings.

The only time it seems to happen before that is if there are some off field issues like Di Canio's rep last season, Holloway walking away from Palace, or Mourinho and Abramovich's falling out back in 07. Guess that could happen to Big Sam this season if the constant abuse from the Hammers gets too much for him to be bothered with.

Funnily enough Sweats I think Redknap's the only one of the three (Sean Dyche at Burnely and Nigel pearson at leciester) who might be worth a shout at being out the door first - but i think he'd walk instead of being fired. Just not sure how much he wants / needs it now and if they get off to a bad start...

If I was betting i'd go with Ronald Koeman - he's not going to hang around there too long given the shenanigans.

WBA have had little patience recently, so not sure how much time Irvine will get. Pardew, Lambert and Allardyce will probably spend a fair amount of time under pressure during the periods when their temas are in bad form, but I think that they'll hang on.

I can remember the days of "Arry when he was one cocky git when he knocked us out of the FA cup when he was manager of Bournemouth. But over the years he has proved to be a pretty shrewd manager. And this video of him is superb. Seems "Arry had no sense of humor that day!
