Yep I agree, Schneiderlin, in the same way as Lambert deserved a move if that was his wish. Was questioned extensively in the media regarding a move away and kept his dignity intact. The club have clearly let him believe a move was on the cards.
It's like they woke up this morning, took a wander over to Staplewood and found Mayuka tripping over his own feet, Sharp sleeping against a goalpost and Boruc sniffing coke out of a hookers navel whilst the rest of our squad were being bottle fed by their nannies. They then confirmed their worst suspicions with a quick glance at twitter. At this stage they have s**t themselves good and proper and pulled the plug on Rodriguez and Schneiderlin's moves.
Lovren should have been the one we made an example of.
Having said this, I still don't agree with Schneiderlin's outburst on twitter earlier, but it's easy to see where the frustration has come from.
Not sure where the discussion on this will/should go but Rupert Lowe's actually giving an extremely good interview on talkSPORT.
Lovren wound me up even more when he left by thanking the fans and the club when for the past few months he'd been nothing but down talking us in the Croatian press.
I'm sure DTLW will fill us in on the salient points without me having to listen to "the other hockey guy's" annoying voice. Is he preaching that mid-table mediocrity can be a wonderful thing if executed just right?

Ok, Spider gets his big wish and jets of to Brazil for the WC. whilst there -
1. His manager leaves, who he obviously feels an affinity for.
2. Didier D probably has a chat and reinforces his earlier statement that, I'm sorry i overlooked you, but you neeed to be playing for a bigger club. ( which he mentioned before iirc ).
3. His mates, and best players in his team all get big money deals to other clubs, then brag about threesomes whilst taking their new Bentleys out for a test drive.
4. He gets to chat to all the big-time France players about their pay packets and what a jolly old time it is playing in the CL or europa, "It's nice to win stuff...... look at my medals boy .."
5. His agent says, " hey spidey, i want a Bentley too, lots of clubs want you now, i can get you mucho moola "
6. He returns and, despite the media frenzy actually states that he's open to staying with his team, depending on how things turn out.
7. Things don't turn out, more mates are sold and buy Bentleys.....
8. The Inept, amateur, worthless board, faff and faff some more, fail to bring in any replacements, don't communicate and seem to be sending the club into a spiral of destruction.
9. Media reports suggest other clubs want him.....
10. Goes to meeting hoping to get equal treatment, suffice to say, by this point he's lost all confidence in his nicey nicey board.
11. Door is slammed on him publically, " NO Bentley's or medals for you matey, shut up and take it !!!"
Gets somewhat annoyed and posts on twitter..... HUGE MEDIA OUTCRY !!!

- I don't think we should panic just yet
- Let me tell you from experience, when a big club comes in for a player it's incredibly difficult
- Agents are telling them to move, so they can pocket some cash
- Players view it as a career promotion
- I think Morgan is a tremendous player and was surprised we managed to sign him from Strasbourg
- I thought he'd end up at a club like Arsenal
- At the moment I believe he is the best central midfielder playing in England
- I hope he sees sense and stays at Southampton
- I regret that I am not still there, enjoying the fruits of the long-term planning based around our academy
- I was on the FA board
- The FA is an 'interesting animal'
- The FA is entrepreneurial
- The FA doesn't have long-term planning on its agenda
- English lads are just as good as the rest, it's all there
- The national game needs to support better technical coaching at grassroots level
- At the moment, it doesn't
- At the end of the day, it's difficult to keep hold of players who don't want to be at your club
- You have to see what Liebherr's board deliver this season before judging their intentions
- I don't think it is ever a question of 'allowing them to leave'
- The issue with reinvesting is not paying out in transfer fees, but the effect on the wage bill

- End of the day, the club does not have the power that it should and nor does any other club
- The pendulum has swung too far in favour of the players since the day of Bosman et al

Aside from being a little egotistical, an otherwise unexpectedly rational summary.
I despair at football fans sometimes. A great player, who the club don't want to leave, is told to stay. (And WAS given this information face to face in advance!)

That's what I thought. He was always capable of it. He was never a twerp with an IQ of an Alsatian dog. His main disadvantage was that nobody liked him. Even his allies didn't.
Look through this thread for some examples. Twitter is beyond belief with numerous SOUTHAMPTON fans claiming the board backtracked and is screwing Morgan. Un-****ing-believable.
Morgan can just do one now to be honest.

Why do so many think that it is anything to do with him coming back later? Agents work on these things through the summer and all the player needs to do is agree with their agent on the phone.
The simple matter here is that all the others were sold at prices the board thought were great deals for what we were selling and quite simply they have not / are not being offered anywhere near what they consider to be a great deal for Morgan. i.e. we think he is worth £25m so we would not sell him for less than £35m.
They are obviously not going to put that inflated figure out there in the public domain now (like I assume they did for the others) because they have plenty of cash and don't want to lose any more players. The other players they thought they could cover (hopefully will) and will try to do so but now we are in an area where we have loads of cash to spend and want to keep Morgan. Nothing to do with the world cup, coming back late at all. Purely that other clubs put up the money for the other players first and Spurs haven't.
Then with Rodriguez I would think they would happily sell him for £20m however they can hardly state Morgan will not be sold without saying the same about JayRod can they?
