Because no one else on the board knows diddly squat about football NC controlled him but since the change over he now appears to have gain absolute control of footballing matters...hence what we see today! No confidence in him at all
He's the only person on the board who knows the slightest thing about football, so he's the de facto leader of everything to do with it. It wouldn't be so bad, because he was in charge of most football operations under Cortese, but at least Cortese could keep the reins on him while acting as the main face for the players. There are reports out there that the players don't like Les Reed, so having Cortese gone as the buffer isn't great for morale.
Les Reed is the only one who is a footballing man...rather him than Kreuger or, with respect, Katherina. However, he has been given power that he may not even have wanted and, I doubt, he wanted to be a spokesman. Even saying that, I doubt he would sell all the family jewels without permission, so can't blame him for that. Let's judge him after the transfer window.
What he said. Les Reed - knows the workings of football? Absolutely. A charismatic leader? That, he is not.
well, with the rest of the Board pretty much anonymous, and the expert in management speak Mr Kreuger nowhere to be seen, Les is the only human being willing to be seen or say anything.
