http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28492365 I expect him to fill the Eto'o role of last season. He cant still be a beast on his day and is free, so I welcome this move myself. All that nostalgia bollocks and his last kicking winning the CL etc can be rammed up the arse of whoever is spouting it. That was a great night, but its done, and we look to the future and more trophies. Nothing that happens in the future will take that night away. Welcome back Didier Drogba! Didier Drogba Tra la la la la Didier Drogba Traaaaaaaa la la la la la
I just saw this on FB and had to read it 3 times before I realised it wasn't a wum, I'm soooooooooooo happy with this news. I needed a new shirt as Luiz left guess who's gonna be on my back

I hope he is used sparingly. He should enhance our big game mentality and having him in there with Costa leaves us much better off than last year in the striking department. Lukaku most likely heading out now though, which is sort of a shame.
He pretty much helped Everton push for a top four spot this season and had a strike rate of 1:2 so he must be a decent footballer.
That's what sets Chelsea apart. There are plenty of decent footballers out there, but at Chelsea we only have world class.
Good for you guys to have Drogba back - but surely Lukaku could learn so much from Drogba as they have a similar style. I personally think you're mad to sell Lukaku when he's so young and is clearly going to be one of the best in the business when he gets older (especially by learning from Drogba). But Jose seems to want players for the now, and not for the future.
So last season he was World Class? He won trophies because the teams he played in (Spain, Chelsea). But he's been a million miles away from being world class since joining Chelsea. If you can't see that you're blind
For all these fans coming on and saying lukaku this and that: Chelsea aren't a selling club. But the minute chelsea get wind that a players moaning or shaping for a move, he will get that move simply because no players irreplaceable and we value the unity of the squad over all else. lukaku is firstly not at the required standard to play first team football for cfc. Its all right doing it for west brom and Everton but chelsea is a different level no disrespect to those clubs. Teams will sit deep and double up on him its not as easy as taking those 14 goals for everton and putting them in a chelsea goal for column. Secondly if lukaku really wants to be a chelsea legend he can be. Look at casillias. Club legend was put on the scrap heap by jose because he saw something in training he didn't like. Look at varane. Look at petr cexh in for cudicini. Lukakus poor attitude is the only thimg thats stopping him-not jose and not our youth policy. Jose has 23 players to look after so he hasn't got time for his ****. He was asked to stay last season he said no. hes not been asked to go this season yet he wants to. He's had the opportunity to compete he just was afraid to take it. If he goes this season it will be a shame, but in 10 years time it will be he that regrets not cfc. All we've done is act like a responsible and successful football team.
Agree with all of this. Lukaku's chance was last season, Torres is sh!t, Ba never worked out and Eto'o was ancient. And none of them were any good. If Lukaku had stayed last season it would have been his time to shine, he WOULD have gotten games ahead of those guys eventually if he had kept his head down and played as good as we know he can. But no, he wanted first team assurances, and when he wasnt given them he asked to go on loan.......so really its his own fault. Now we have signed Costa and Drogba is back, so his chances next season will be more limited imo. In short Lukaku is an idiot.
Similar style? They're nothing alike! Drogba was the complete striker - a beast in the air, playing with his back to goal, hold up play, playing as the lone striker. Lukaku might score a load of goals but the amount of attacks he ruins because of his first touch is unbelievableg. His best attribute is running at defences, in a counter attacking team and when 80% of the league will be sitting back marking him tightly, he'll be useless. Lukaku isn't anything like drogba.
