Not quite sure what that's all about tbh. I haven't seen anything untoward on this thread yet at all.

If I'm honest though Stainsey, you're not adverse to getting stuck in yourself on occasion. What was the argument about that you lost your head on again? Something about anti-Semitism or something was it? Galloping in on your high horse is not palatable when you yourself have done what you're complaining about on here mate.

You're sound as a pound but hypocrisy like that is always difficult to digest.

You do make me giggle puppy dog :).

But you ain't gonna get a bite out of me........Keep trying with your usual victims (Willy being your latest, as poor Imaz just had enough of your, some would say, bullying ways).

Shame really, as for a Chelsea fan from Pimlico, you are alright ;)

Not trying to get a bite mate. I mean what I said. You don't want others to have a go at something but its okay when its a subject that YOU feel passionately about.

    Its hypocritical mate.

The hypocrisy of protesting against antisemitism and then being wary about a thread that mentions Jews (amongst some other religions) in a slightly dismissive way? Surely you can see that it's consistent?

As said, it hasn't gone too far yet but I must say that it is easier being an atheist on this board. We do throw fairly flippant remarks about different religions about without much recourse.

But your constant references to Christianity, when you know (and most on here know), are aimed to get a bite out of Willy, could be deemed bullying.....and I was always taught to stand up to bully's ;)
You did the same to Imaz, with your constant referral to Islam, and you drove him away from the board....It's all rather tiresome bruv.

And trust me puppy dog, we are all hypocrites in some shape of form :)

Staines, this is a thread about the Gaza conflict. Religion is a large part of that. I don't like religious fanatics. I loathe them in fact. Believe me, my views have nothing to do with anyone on this message board. They are my opinions regarding this conflict and of those in the West who prolong it from positions of safety to the detriment and often destruction of the people living there.

That's actually incorrect. Imaz has left this Board because he called Uber a racist and was pulled up on it by a few posters. The Mods asked him to apologise but he wouldn't and instead left the Board. He's not been seen since.

Ironically, I was the one person agreeing with him on that thread at the time (not about Uber being racist) and was backing him up.

You're spot on there mate. <ok>

I wish I could continue but gotta start work.

Swordsie....please don't think of my impending silence as some kind of victory for you ;)
I shall continue to debate if possible ;)

Sadly the Israeli's missed the chance to find some kind of negotiated way out of this when they were dealing with the politically motivated PLO. Now they are up against the religiously motivated Hamas, who are all or nothing (we win in paradise anyway) merchants.

As an aside has anyone seen the TV drama An Honourable Woman? I saw an episode last night, or it was on TV while I was in the room. It looks finely crafted and well acted, but as I glanced up to see the British Jewish heroine (played by an American) being raped by a Palestinian after being kidnapped in Gaza apparently in revenge for his wife and child being blown up by the Israelis it did make me wonder a) whether this was entertainment and b) whether it was the cleverest thing to be showing on TV at this particular time. I'm against censorship in most cases, and believe 'art' does have a valid voice on contemporary and historical events and politics, but sometimes sensitivity and commonsense could be applied.

I have no useful comment on what is happening in the area, except FFS.

I thought it was Arafat who passed up one of the best chances of a settlement?

Probably Col, it's all too depressing for me to revisit the history. I just think the chances of a negotiated settlement are lower now than they were 20 years ago.

Hamas has few redeeming features, but the Israeli response to Hamas aggression is totally disproportionate. The sight of our new Foreign Secretary kissing Netanyahu's arse is sickening.

If you keep poking the big dog with a stick...he's gonna bite.... and boy did he bite.

Its a travesty no doubt...but Hamas using civs as human shields....for me is about as disgusting as it gets.

    Agrred mate.

Agree too, although I now feel Israel needs to be "the adult" and put a stop to this. Too many innocents are losing their lives.

I glanced over the thread title too quickly and read it as Jesus giving it large on Israel! <laugh>

It begs the question; if Jesus was alive today, would he be on Twitter?
