He showed he could run at defenders, had some nice moves, but got rather dependable and easy to read in the end, but he was a raw and young talent that should have kept his head down and got on with things, rather that all the acrimony he got up too, but then I would prefer Orlandi over Poz any day of the week!............
Agree on Orlandi Phil, I always thought the lad was quality. Just needed a season injury free and I think he would have flourished under Laudrup.
The youngster didn't know how to pass the ball, he tried relying on his running and dribbling skills but almost every defender was just as fast and much stronger than him. He was bullied easily and his perception of his ability got the better of him, his goal tally in the Premier League will forever read zero and let's not forget he didn't get a goal in the cups and Europa League neither. His official goal tally for us was 22 games, 0 goals. For a 22 year old attacking midfielder with a few seasons under his belt that is not Premier League quality, he was never gonna make it so his pouting was all the more confusing to me... when you are not made of the right stuff the last thing you should do is act in such a disgraceful manner. A club above his level in a league above his level was too gracious for him, his attitude towards it was somewhat pathetic. I am one the guys who is glad to see the back of him, he didn't set Betis alight before joining us and that should have been the clue that he was not good enough for us.
Don't disagree with the comments and sentiment, but didn't he score against Malmo and Petrolul (whatever they were called)?
He did, but UEFA and FIFA don't recognise those goals as being in competitive matches. Even though they counted towards the score in a Europa League qualifying match, the qualifying rounds don't count towards a players career statistics much like friendlies.
Well valley , Monk was disruptive behind the scenes , did they get rid of him... no , they made him manager .. lol
A hugely frustrating player trying clever stuff all the time which rarely came off. If he was a disruptive influence as well then I for one won't miss him. Hey, we're signing some good players this summer aren't we
That's a good video Terror, but try and find one where he does that against half decent opposition, that said he has talent but clearly not the right mental attitude, I was at that game too!...............
I hope you are right but dont speak to soon. there will be plenty reposting this should we fail this year.
He did more in his time as manager than what Poz did the whole season as a player, Poz had one assist in the Premier League for the entire 2013/2014 campaign. He would have been gone even if he didn't have that strop. Shelvey played deeper and got 6 goals and 6 assists, Lamah is much maligned on these boards but last season he got 2 goals and 2 assists... He contributed much more than Pozuelo which is why I am suprised some people here think he is a promising player with a bright future, he hasn't showed it.
Poz did a fabulous job first half , when we were doing well in all competitions with Poz playing a big part with midfielers missing from injury .
