We are much weaker than we were last season i have no doubt in my mind. If we lose Bony I will be having a bet on us being relegated this season. We will have no goals in us and will be Championship bound. If we retain Bony there is a good chance that his goals will be able to keep us up. We will be weaker in goals, weaker at fullback. It just doesnt bode well.

Cant help feeling that GM is just way out of his depth in trying to build a squad. Short of Gomis every player we have signed or are about to sign have been linked to us over the past 3 years. I am sure GM has got the old scrap book out and gone through who other managers were looking at and signed them or maybe he used a dart board. The guy is just out of his depth.

Its funny for the last howevemany sesons I have been excited in pre season looking forward to the start of each campaign. Getting excited about seeing our new signings. This year my stomach is turning over and am dreading the whole thing. I just hope I am wrong.

Jesus christ, who sh@t in your chips?! Cheer up, worse things happen at sea.

You are right but I am being realistic. All the the GM lover cant see what is in front of their nose. If Bony stays we have a shout, If he goes just cant see us staying up.

Agreed
Even now we need

right back cover / job share for arranged
Midfield central defence with Leon
Two wing players
Central attacking midfield player to replace Poz, Pablo, Michu

If they leave
left back replacement for Ben
Midfield for JdG

Signings - Bafe? just don't know, Fulton squad, other Scot -21, Emnes - squad

Lose Bony and we are screwed, Chico will be the only creative player in the squad.

Far too negative here bob, and cannot agree with you on Emnes being just a squad player. As for LB, surely you have not forgotten Taylor is on our books, as for Poz, Pablo, Michu, I'm sure Siggy/Shelvey/Emnes will be a good upgrade to the Spanish three, get positive man!................<cheers>

As it stands today we are weaker IMO.

I like a lot of the players we are linked with though;

- Montero for Pablo = similar quality (IMO)
- Siggy for Michu = less quality but as good a bet as any (in our price range) to provide and make goals from that position.
- Timothee Kolodziejczak for Ben Davies = a possible upgrade
- Muhammed Besic/Jack Cork for Canas = similar quality (possibly an upgrade)
- Johnny Williams for Pozuelo = similar quality and potential
- Kyle Naughton for Tiendalli = improvement

My concern, as others have stated, is that it's too much change too quickly with a rookie manager at the helm (who might try and change the formation as well)...Monk doesn't look a leader to me. If I were a player I certainly wouldn't be able to take him seriously given everything that has gone on and the way he presents...must be very difficult if you're Chico.

We're losing Vorm.
We've lost Michu.
If we were to lose Chico and/or Bony the spine of the team will have been significantly damaged.

I am very worried indeed but if the right players come in there's still hope.

Terror the alternatives do sound good. But there is only one problem with it 5 of them havent signed and will they.

Emnes couldnt get in a poor chapionship side ffs. He is a good squad player and nothing more. I will give you he had 2 good performances last year against cardiff and Sunderland.

We have lost Michu,Hernandes,Poz, Canas and Ben Davies from last years squad, and still could lose Bony and JDG. We have brought in Fabranski, Gomis and the young scot lad whose name escapes me for the moment, if we succeed in bringing in Montero and Gulfi will we still be as strong as last season or do we need to continue strengthening.

Yes it will be, have some faith man! how will we miss Michu? He did buggar all last season, Canas average at best, Poz has potential but couldn't keep out of the trouble involving Canas, none of these players are outstanding, so lets not get our knickers in a twist, lets wait and see how things develop, some patience is needed of course!................<ok>

Couldn't disagree more with you, Boro are where they are for a reason, and no way would I take anything they do as evidence of anything, and certainly not regarding a quality player like Emnes who was wasted with them in the Championship, I'll take Huw Jenkins judgement on this over your flawed reasoning any minute of the day, So negative you are, go and sink a beer man!...................<laugh>

Get your nose out of HJ arse and you might see where we really are. Emnes is a tidy player, he is no better than what we have or what we had. I actually think he is a tidy player. But he is no more than a squad player, which is what he was when he was here last season on loan.As a striker if you think and average of 1 goal every6 games is quality then so be it. I actually think it is poor. No point in replying I have seen the light and put the ignore button on. Should have done it ages ago.

Emnes was also excellent against Napoli away and Newcastle away when he won us a penalty. In fact he looked good in every game.

Just can't win with the negheads on here. With any new signing it's a case of hasn't played yet - he could be **** for us but with Emnes he's judged on his previous record.

Best to let them stew in their own negativity.

Jesus jack have you listened to any thing I said. Yes he is a tidy signing. Yes he is a tidy player. But, what I am saying he is no more than a squad player, If we keep the squad we have now. So who will you start him in front of. Maybe Bony, Gomis. Tell me. I am not being negative, but some on here are saying he is class, well he isnt. he is a good signing and a good squad player nothing more.

And because of this feeling you have, we will have the best season yet. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

GOOD NEWS! READ ALL ABOUT IT!.......................<laugh>

The Gylf will storm next season, sliding passes through to the strikers and smashing in long-range efforts. The prospect of him setting up the likes of Bony and Gomis is very exciting, and the return of this impressive player can only be good news for the Swans as they try to maintain their status as an established Premier League side.- Scottswan

Sigurdsson has the potential to be a more creative, team-focused attacking midfielder than Michu, he has already got double Michu's assists?...So can we all look at the positives here for crying out loud!.................<cheers>

the Ngog signing will always go down as one of the great mysteries and I also feared the worse with Emnes tbh. However I have to say he was good in every game he played and he was superb against Napoli, infact the turning point in that game was when we took him off - a huge Monk blunder! like others have said hes more than a squad player, hes a player who can come on to influence games

As it stands, our squad is as strong as last seasons squad imo with the addition of Gomis, Gylfi and Ki returning. However if (and I know it's a bloody big if) we can get Montero, Payet and Besic (who as of yet still hasn't signed for anyone) we will be stronger than last season imo.

Anybody with news on JDG? Doesn't seem to have been linked with anyone?

Without losing anyone else Valley. If Bony goes that will be a massive blow. I have seen we have had a second bid for Deeney turned down.
